The other thing that bothers me is that Falcon Lake is known to be a dangerous place to go and what sane person would go to the Mexican side when there are the pirates..
They were living in Reyonsa, Mexico about 2 1/2 years and just recently moved back to the US. This may have lessened their fear of going across the border on the lake. Who knows at this stage of the investigation.

The Falcon Lake Murder and Mexico's Drug Wars October 21, 2010 The Falcon Lake Murder and Mexico's Drug Wars | STRATFOR STRATFOR published an analysis last Wednesday noting that a reliable source in Mexico informed us that the Sept. 30 shooting death of U.S. citizen David Hartley on Falcon Lake which straddles the U.S.-Mexico border was a mistake committed by a low-level member of the Los Zetas drug trafficking organization. The source also informed us that those responsible for Hartleys death are believed to have disposed of his body and that the Zeta hierarchy was conducting a damage-control operation to punish those responsible for the death and to distance the cartel from the murder. The source further reported that the murder of the lead Tamaulipas state investigator on the case, Rolando Armando Flores Villegas whose head was delivered in a suitcase to the Mexican militarys Eight Zone headquarters in Reynosa on Oct. 12 was a specific message from Los Zetas to Mexican authorities to back off from the investigation.

Anybody want to change their opinions now?
Naw.... I still want to know what happened not what some ‘reliable source’ is putting out about the cartels.

What do you want to know? My son was a friend and co-worker of David Hartley. Do you want to know about his character or that of his wife?
Do you want to know about the Canadian oil field company they work for that had opened a district in Mexico and why David Hartley and his wife were that last non-Hispanics to work there in Mexico after every one else left after seeing headless corpses in the streets down there chose to return to the US and Canada. Or how the house the Hartley's lived in at a gated community in Mexico was broken into and a warning was conveyed to them by the drug cartel to get out of Mexico.
Or are you one of those folks that gets all your news from the National Enquirer and love the drama of being the first to jump on the next crack pot band wagon?
If you do not understand that this sort of violence happens daily south of our border then you don't understand the problem and any further explanation would be pointless.

I want to know what happend period. Not what someone is saying happend. When the investigations complete if ever and an official position is rendered then I’ll accept that.
Don’t get your drawers in a wad just become some people are skeptical and want to see the official verdict. There are generally more than one side to a story until it gets sorted out.

Everyone here seems eager to jump to conclusions that the wife did it or they have it planned to scam the insurance companies and disappear -— so don’t saddle any tall horses of righteousness of wanting to know the facts when the fact is the investigation is closed by the Mexicans and our State department is to busy right now busy suing the state of Arizona to do anything other than ignore it because public sentiment is leaning towards bullshit conspiracies like mentioned above.
