BUSTED! Video Documents Role of Dem. Consultant Neal Rauhauser in Smear Campaign Against Tea Party
The Other McCain ^ | 10/7/2010 | Robert Stacy McCain

Posted on 10/08/2010 9:32:24 AM PDT by Qbert

WARNING: This video is filled with profanity. What it documents — including pedophilia-themed Twitter attacks against children of a Tea Party supporter — involves a network of “progressive” activists apparently organized by Neal Rauhauser, whose firm, Progressive PST, has been hired by many Democratic candidates.

UPDATE: Wow, Greg W. Howard posted this video on his blog two weeks ago, and I didn’t see it until today? Man, I’ve got to start paying closer attention . . .

UPDATE II: Much of the information in the video was collected at the “Swift Read” site of conservative Catholic blogger Patrick Read, who says that he and others have stored page caches of the material. The video says the purpose is to “illustrate that Neal Rauhauser was soliciting some of the worst provocateurs he could find in an effort to deliberately elicit angered responses from the Tea Party.” It  features screen captures of Tweets by several activists alleged to have been part of Rauhauser’s network. Conservative blogger Greg W. Howard was especially targeted for Twitter harassment. (Warning: Extremely graphic language.)

Fear and Loathing in Freeperville
by Iowa Boy
Fri Apr 06, 2007 at 03:15:56 PM PDT

I recently returned to online activities after a ninety day ‘vacation’. I decided to see some new country, so I created a Free Republic login, and what I found in the day and a half my login survived ... has interesting implications for the 2008 elections.

We’ve seen the 43%/43% Democratic/Republican split shift to a 50%/35% split and after just a day with the FReepers I’m sure that trend is going to continue. In fact, I think we can help it along ...

(I’ve completed my follow on thoughts to this diary - some ideas on framing and communication that could be directed to the portion of Evangelicals who are fed up with the Bush administration’s behavior)

Neal Rauhauser’s Summary

I grew up in rural Iowa and if I don't say my age people hearing about my childhood would guess I'm in my sixties rather than forties.

I spent my adult life working as a software developer and network engineer. Lyme disease knocked me flat in the summer of 2007. I was largely disabled for eighteen months, hospitalized repeatedly, and homeless part of the time. I wrote relentlessly on DailyKos that year and have the makings of a good novel from my journey.

On 1/1/2008 I founded the Stranded Wind Initiative, an NGO focused on development using wind resources in areas that lack transmissions lines . The best use of stranded wind power is making ammonia; I published the National Renewable Ammonia Architecture in the spring of 2009 and the Illinois Institute of Rural Affairs will publish a policy paper based on this in the summer of 2010.

I was well enough to return to work 1/2/2009. That fall I ventured to Netroots Nation and in the closing hours of the event we founded the Blog Workers Industrial Union & Benevolent Society.

The BWIU runs a jobs bank for its members, there is a training program that features SalsaLabs tools among the mix of organizing technologies, a book exchange, and a couple of for profits have spun out of the group including Progressive PST, our social media consulting operation.

We arrived as a force on the national scene in the spring of 2010, participating in many high visibility House primary races, landing our first Senate campaign in Arizona, and gathering resources needed to support various initiatives.

Something is going to come out of all of this between now and the 2010 midterm elections and I do believe there is something more to come after that. Keep watching this space and I'll update as I can.
Neal Rauhauser’s Specialties:

And as election-day draws closer, progressive-masses are banging about social networks and provably engaging in a systematic attack on average Americans—who are now resoundingly rejecting their transformational wants of America.

Detailed documentation makes clear that Progressive E-Thugs are “organized,” linked to national Democrat candidates and engaging in a disgusting assault on average citizen using social-media. The politics of personal destruction is not just aimed politicians anymore. According to sources, Bill Clinton met with “Senior Democrat political operatives to coordinate a push-back to the burgeoning tea party movement” last February when Scott Brown won Kennedy’s former seat. “Big Government” verified Clinton’s “plotting a “push/pull” strategy” with an aim on the Tea Party—which according to polls, a good number are fellow Democrats.

Reportedly, the plan was to identify national Tea Party leaders and “engage in deep opposition research” in hopes to “create a mole from within” by way of threat or by bribe. Those who wouldn’t turncoat, would be the target of character assassination to demoralize, deride, defame and derail them.

The Tea Party proved its impact & merit when Governor Chris Christie won in New Jersey, Governor Bob McDonnell won in Virginia and it further shows its might as core conservatives have scored big-wins during the primary season. As Bill Clinton is all too familiar, “politics ain’t ‘beanbags.” Lately, it’s been more like a list of cyber-thugs named, “bean dogs.”

Neal Rauhauser is the founder of the Stranded Wind Initiative. He is involved in the day to day outreach, often writing on DailyKos as well as making regular contributions to the Sci-Tech section on The Cutting Edge News and occasional reporting for The Oil Drum

His professional work involves a mix of telecommunications consulting and the management of Third Mode Energy, a startup founded by members of the *Stranded Wind Initiative to commercialize some of the concepts presented here.

*Description:
The Stranded Wind Initiative exists to find ways to use wind power in areas that lack the population to use it and the transmission resources to send it to market.

Stranded Wind is a multi level enterprise that facilitates the development of stranded renewable energy resources to address the issues of fossil fuels, energy independence and global warming. Stranded Wind is committed to the sustainable production of ammonia as an alternative fuel and agricultural commodity, rail electrification, the development of biofuels without impacting food production and local renewable power generation. Stranded Wind provides organizational development resources to encourage new, renewable energy projects using emerging technologies to enhance local energy independence. strandedwind.org
