After several rough weeks on the campaign trail, a new poll out of Alaska shows Republican Joe Miller has fallen to last place in the three-way Senate race. A Hays Research Group poll released Thursday showed write-in candidates, presumably meaning Sen. Lisa Murkowski, in the lead with 34 percent, Democrat Scott McAdams with 29 percent and Miller with 23 percent. Murkowski is waging a write-in bid since losing the Republican primary to Miller.

Scott McAdams, the Democratic nominee in the three-way Alaska Senate race, has a new flyer that humorously refers to his weight. "I'm Twice the Man Joe Miller is (literally)," the flyer says in its heading, and then adding: "And probably three or four Lisas."

According to a letter to the editor of The Frontiersman, the Conservative Patriots Group is holding a "non-partisan, non-political remembrance rally" (a remembrance 'rally'?) to commemorate the victims of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Speakers include Wasilla Mayor Verne Rupright, plus Joe Miller and tentatively Scott McAdams, both candidates for U.S. Senate. The organizers promise to show what they believe is a "never-before-seen slide show" of the attacks. The NRSC sends over this passage from an interview with Alaska Democratic Senate candidate Scott McAdams: In the interview with RealClearPolitics, [McAdams] demonstrated an unwillingness to answer some of the most basic policy questions that have permeated the national debate in recent months. Asked if he would have voted for national health care reform, McAdams paused for a full 10 seconds before replying, "Let's see. One moment please." Another 15 seconds of silence came next, before McAdams finally asked to hear the reporter's next question.
