Donor Attacks Prove Obama Still Doesn't Get It
TalkingSides.com ^ | 10/12/10 | CaroleL

Many television pundits, newspapers columnists and ordinary Americans have spent the last few days wondering why President Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats have chosen donor disclosure as their last stand issue in the upcoming mid-term elections. Their accusations of foreign money influencing American elections have been proven baseless and their insinuations about 'shadowy third-party groups' have only served as a reminder that protecting donors' privacy is not only perfectly legal, it has been practiced by Team Obama for years.

So why is the administration still barreling forward with an attack plan that should have been quickly abandoned once it was debunked by even such liberal bastions as FactCheck.org and the New York Timesid White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs tell reporters this morning, "The president will continue to make the case that we don't know where this money comes from;" basically doubling down on the strategy?

if the chamber of Commerce had been smart, they would have answered Barky with “Our contributions are from only red blooded all Americans and we have the birth certificates to prove it.”

This crap shows just how desperate these crooks and liars really are — they cannot run on even ONE issue in their agenda. It is all personal attacks.....

They call it "Projection" in psychology class.

I believe they sense pressure on the liberal 527s, other Dems, etc. over campaign financing and want to weaken the issue prior to a Republican Congress with:

Alinsky tactics, accuse the opponent of that which you are already guilty. And if he repudiates you, it sounds like he’s saying oh yeah, well.......

To which I would answer “and we don’t know where all those $200 credit card donations came from during his campaign, since he conveniently shut down the identification mechanisms and refused to relese the records.

What would really burn him is if the Chamber of Commerce released some fabulous paperwork that says “the money comes from here and goes into this account....and the money comes from here and goes into THIS account, which is where we’re funding the campaign to hang your sad sorry butt out to dry.”

Pubs can run against the terrible Obama record, so they don't need to go after Rat money sources. Besides, it is a weak strategy unworthy of pursuing.

Does this attack on the Chamber of Commerce illustrate what the Obama administration thinks of the private sector?

The CoC is not an umbrella organization of Republican party. It supported the president’s stimulus package. It supported the auto bailout. It supported the small-business loan program that the president signed.

The current administration wants anyone who will listen to believe that people who disagree with Obama's policies must be under the influence of evil-doers. IOW, the Dems are reduced to having to scare their constituents into voting.

It won't work, except to raise funds for moveon.org, perhaps.

Hope that the fact that Obama disrespected the Supreme Court in front of the whole nation during his State of the Union address does not get lost in this latest issue.

I think the Alinsky thing doesn’t work anymore for two reasons:

The TEA Party

The Internet

This ploy will only work with those who have no knowledge that just chant things when they protest. The useful idiots.

Tom Donohue basically said that today:

Let me be clear. The Chamber does not use any foreign money to fund voter education activities—period. We have strict financial controls in place to ensure this. The funds we receive from American Chambers of Commerce abroad, bilateral business councils, and non-U.S. based global companies represent a small fraction of our more than $200 million annual revenues. Under our accounting system, these revenues are never used to support any political activities. We are in full compliance with all laws and regulations.

“Does this attack on the Chamber of Commerce illustrate what the Obama administration thinks of the private sector?”

Does it reflect what he thinks of his National Security Advisor? (Or, is Donilon the source???)

Yep, Alinsky says to attack individuals and not intuitions. Attacking the Tea Party makes it worse for them.

They are setting the stage for campaign reform in the aftermath of the recent Supreme Court Decison. They want Republican sources disclosed and RAT sources hidden. The story line is: We lost so badly because the Republicans are using cash from “shadowy sources”, not just foreign. The media still hasn’t caught on and is skeptical. But they WILL fall in line after the election. Once the media wises up to the game and realize that the Republicans can out fund-raise their 527s.n That will scare the bejeesus out of the libtard media types.

PREDICTABLE.
