White House Insiders Feel Shellshocked, And Already Think It's Over For Obama
Business Insider ^ | October 13, 2010 | Joe Wiesenthal

The talk of the town for the next few days will be this big piece by Peter Baker in the NYT on President Obama. The piece paints a picture of a despondent administration:

Yet even if the White House saw it coming, this is an administration that feels shellshocked. Many officials worry, they say, that the best days of the Obama presidency are behind them. They talk about whether it is time to move on.

While not in the 30s, Obama’s approval rating in surveys conducted by The New York Times and CBS News had fallen to 45 percent last month from 62 percent when he took office — just a point above where Clinton was before losing Congress in 1994 and three points above where Reagan was before the Republicans lost a couple dozen House seats in 1982.

Joel Benenson, Obama’s pollster, pointed out that even at 45 percent, the president’s popularity eclipses that of Congress, the news media, the banks and other forces in American life. “We are in a time when the American public is highly suspect of any institution,” he said, “and President Obama still stands above that.” Obama’s team takes pride that he has fulfilled three of the five major promises he laid out as pillars of his “new foundation” in an April 2009 speech at Georgetown University — health care, education reform and financial reregulation. And they point to decisions to end the combat mission in Iraq while escalating the war in Afghanistan. “History will judge Obama that the first two years were very productive,” Rouse says.

It is a dictatorship that doesn’t listen to the majority of the people. What else could they expect?

He did what he was hired to do - enact enough outrageous legislation to give the banks cover from public attention while they made themselves solvent again at taxpayer expense. He can go away now, having done his duty to his handlers and been rewarded with the chance to play President for a few years.

Repeal Obamacare. Do not replace it. Let the market work.

Things seem to happen when they are “supposed” to; in other words, when all things come together that have been building for a long time. Let’s hope the memory of this presidential fiasco isn’t short.

We have a chance to gain America back from the hands of certain death.

The only reason Obama's approval rating is still as high as it is, is because Dems are voicing approval in the face of the impending elections.

Once the elections are over, two things happen. One, there is no reason to keep voicing support of him for election-related reasons. Two, Dems will blame Obama for their heavy losses.

Prediction: Obama's support will drop between 10 and 15% within a few weeks of the election.

It’s fun to read about this stuff, but no one can make Obama shoot himself in the foot. If the Obama regime collapses, good, but don’t count on it happening. Concentrate on being the loyal opposition, not Obamas “persecutors”.

Well, the Congress has been doing Obama's bidding, and even making it convenient by applying the K-Y without his asking; the banks have been getting smeared by the Obama-bots, and by the so-called news media; and the news media isn't liked by Americans because it's a partisan shilling machine for Obama and the Demwits; the left doesn't like the news media because it actually sells ad space and charge for its product in order to earn a living. Thanks lbryce.
