Colorado Voters Reject Conservative Tancredo - Choose Leftist Open-Borders Hickenlooper For Governor
Here's The Right Side Of It ^ | November 3, 2010 | John L. Work

While the conservative resurgence throughout the nation in yesterday’s election looks promising for Americans who are desperately reaching for the brake pedal to stop Obama’s out-of-control side-skid to the left, Colorado Democrats continue to hold on to considerable power.

Given a refreshingly real choice between conservative secure-borders candidate Tom Tancredo and radical leftist Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, the voters chose the option that will ensure Colorado remains an open-borders, sanctuary state for illegal aliens. The Looper, as he is called by some conservatives, won fair and square – in pretty much a landslide. The invasion continues. For Michelle Malkin’s pre-election take on the issue click here.

Leftist media mogul Dean Singleton’s Denver Post editorial staff has been hammering Tancredo for weeks. The Post is now the only major newspaper in Denver, since the more conservative Rocky Mountain News closed its doors a few years ago. Hickenlooper’s refusal to reveal to which organizations he has donated millions of dollars, his sanctuary city policies, and his endorsement of self-proclaimed revolutionary former Obama-aide Van Jones were not enough to convince Colorado voters to choose the patriot. Here’s a bit of Hickenlooper/Van Jones footage:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyB2SD3JjNI

From the Post comes this:

“As the last minutes of Election Day ticked away, Colorado was looking less like a part of the red Republican wave sweeping the country and more like a Democratic island in a GOP storm…”

“…The Democrats also held onto the governor’s office in a race that turned out not to be as close as many polls had it when Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper swept aside hapless Republican nominee Dan Maes and former Congressman Tom Tancredo, who ran as a third-party candidate…”

For those among us who held high hopes that Tancredo could pull off an upset, the decision of the electorate is disappointing and discouraging. But, the decision has been made, the voters have spoken - and Colorado remains in the grips of the radical left.

As much as I hate to say it, if Tancredo had run as a Republican he most likely would have won.

I just don’t think the electorate, in general, can juggle three parties.

If that little pissant Maes had dropped out, Tancredo maybe could have won.

Too bad really. Blow up Boulder, and Aspen, and maybe the right would have half a chance? What can you expect from a state where leisure winter sports is king.

Blow up, is figurative, and in no way indicates a proclivity towards use of explosives for immoral porpoises.

The republican machine wouldn’t have let Maes drop out. Tancredo had to suck it up and run as a Repub. I know how hard that would have been for him, but it that’s what it takes...

The lesson here is very clear. Third parties are a tool of the left. The only real hope for the republic is for conservatives to take over control of the Republican party.

If conservatives had control of the Republican party, we would like have Tancredo as Governor, and as many as three more Senators than we are likely to get. The energies of conservatives over the next two years must be to take control of the Republican party and to get rid of RINOs.

Yes, the real story in several races was that the R establishment was so determined to hold onto power that they were willing to actively subvert real conservatives. RINOs need to be hunted down everywhere and eliminated in primaries. Moreover, the party apparatuses need to be cleansed of the time-servers and RINOs.

We can stuff them if congress will vote to forbid Sancturary Cities from receiving any federal funds! It’s a win/win for us if we make the Dems vote against it or Obummer Vetos it!

We’ll close our borders in Texas, AZ, and New Mexico and chase them all to Denver. Congrats CO, you just elected a freaking moron. Great job. Where are the common sense Westerners?

Tancrado DID run as a Republican and lost the primary. And that is when all the crap about Mae’s background came out. Tancrado did the principled thing at that point and ran as a conservative on the Constitution Party ticket.

Displaced Kalifornia Liberals have moved to Colorado in vast numbers. But it is not all bad. Republicans took control of the legislature.

I can’t help but think that Colorado suffers from the same illness as Oregon, Washington State, Tulsa, Nashville, Austin, et al, viz. expat kalifornians.

My bad. I had a brainfart on that one.

If he can’t win on the Republican ticket I don’t see much hope of him getting elected, until the GOP is thrown on the trash heap of history by the Tea or Constitution party, hopefully in the not too distant future. As I said, this country is not well suited to three-party elections. Most of the electorate look at the lever with the “I” on it and say, “What the hell is that doing there?”

Tancrado DID run as a Republican and lost the primary.

No. He didn't. He defered to the party leaders who wanted Penry. He turtled and it defaulted to McInnus who lost the primary to the grifter, Maes.

Well hopefully, the possibility of minority party status will scare the hell out of the CO GOP leadership and hopefully they will realize that the party is made up of CONSERVATIVES and not party robots.

Perhaps now they will do an honest vetting of their candidates and bring solid conservatives to the primaries.

Yes, but the problem is that the RINOs, in their desperate attempt to hold on to power in the party, will then do whatever they can to sabotage the conservative's chances in the general election.
