It's not that they've forgotten so much as they still think it's more convenient to fly and values have lowered so much that an invasive groping is nothing. I haven't flown in years and have no intention to ever do so in the future. I've marked anything off the mainland off my vacation list so anywhere I want to go I'll drive myself.
BS. These scanners aren't going to stop a single crotch bomber. Israel knows this, which is why they call them 'worthless'.
All any self-respecting terrorist need do is shove his bomb up his rectum or female bomber the other cavity. These scanners don't detect anything underneath the skin. Upon being 'cleared' all the terrorist need do is find the nearest restroom facility prior to boarding (or after in the plane's restroom), remove said bomb, and place it in his/her carryon. An hour later, KABOOM. Now if a little old gramma can figure this out in five minutes you known darn well a terrorist can!
Israel knows this too which is why they profile and interrogate and have a 100% sucess rate. If our govt were truly interested in protecting its citizens rather than humiliating our citizens we would be PROFILING! This isn't about safety. This is about control. Every tyrannical govt always, ALWAYS, takes away freedoms by informing the citizenry its 'for their own safety' or for their 'own good' without exception. Nice to see you rolling over for these tyrants giving up every inch of your liberty.
And if we don't fight back now with the airports, what makes you think these things won't be installed at the work place, sporting events, schools, etc. until the govt has control over every aspect of your life where humiliation and degradation is no obstacle to their fascist agenda? How many terrorist plots has the TSA discovered in all their many years controlling our nation’s airports? The answer is NONE! If you’ll recall, that underwear bomber was ON THE PLANE.
One problem we have is that Janet Napolitano is incompetent and without any imagination or creativity. The terrorists will always, ALWAYS be many steps ahead of her. All she knows how to do is react in the most blundering way possible. We joke about cavity inspections, but you just gotta know that is EXACTLY what she will try to enforce when a terrorist is discovered with an explosive up his/her ass. She’s predictable and dull.
America continues to turn a blind eye to the time-proven security methods of El Al. I guess it’s more politically correct to have Muslims do groping inspections of nuns and children than to admit that Muslims are the ONLY ones who have tried to blow up planes.
Nothing sexual of course, or creepy, just more comfortable, like being being more secure and confidential.
My question for him is, since there is obviously nothing sexual about the TSA procedures, if he asks for a female TSA agent to be assigned to search him, will he get in trouble?
Will they comply with his request?
Does he have to actually be flying some place or can he just periodically drop by to help fight terrorism?
I told him I didn't think he could be turned gay by a male TSA agent rubbing him the wrong way since this is obviously not sexual.
If however the TSA agent was gay and that is the way to bet, and the agent was enjoying the search, he could be considered a loose skank, though legally not a prostitute unless he got an upgrade or something.

Isreal’s technique would have caught BOTH the shoe bomber and the underwear bomber. OUR SUPER-NEW TECHNOLOGY SCANNERS would likely as not have caught either, as best I understand. In other words the TSA police-state-style screening has failed BIG TIME twice.

I am starting to suspect another motivation behind this. The discouragement of any long distance travel. It’s just not “green”. No one should venture beyond their village. Unless one is a member of the nomenklatura.
