First, they took on the political establishment in Congress. Now, tea partiers have trained their sights on a new and insidious target: local planning and zoning commissions, which activists believe are carrying out a global conspiracy to trample American liberties and force citizens into Orwellian "human habitation zones."
At the root of this plot is the admittedly sinister-sounding Agenda 21, an 18-year-old UN plan to encourage countries to consider the environmental impacts of human development. Tea partiers see Agenda 21 behind everything from a septic tank inspection law in Florida to a plan in Maine to reduce traffic on Route 1. The issue even flared up briefly during the midterms, when Colorado Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes accused his Democratic opponent of using a bike-sharing program to convert Denver into a "United Nations Community." In the tea partiers dystopian vision, the increased density favored by planners to allow for better mass transit becomes compulsory "human habitation zones."
Agenda 21 paranoia has swept the tea party scene, driving activists around the country to delve into the minutiae of local governance. And now that the midterm elections are over, they're descending on planning meetings and transit debates, wielding PowerPoints about Agenda 21, and generally freaking out low-level bureaucrats with accusations about their roles in a supposed international conspiracy.

Count me among the “nutjobs”.
please put me on your list
The Tea Party is 100% Pro-”Sustainable Development”. It’s just that we consider “Sustainable Development” as things like running a business without requiring government largesse to stay solvent, or not going into debt to buy your big screen TV.
Green energy sources that cost 10 times as much and can only succeed through subsidy and/or government mandate are not “sustainable” at all. FUMJ.
Why does the author think that it is ok for local governments to follow United Nations dictates? Why does the author think that the TEA party movement should only be restricted to federal government?
I want to know more. Put me on your ping list.
Sustainable development is racist.
Read Sowell’s “The housing boom and bust”
International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI): Local Governments for Sustainability. ICLEI is used as one of the mechanisms to undo the political recognition of unalienable rights.”
Hooray for the Tea Party....they need to educate OUR representatives; MOST of whom don’t even know what the Cloward/Piven Strategy is!!!!
Congress is chock full of “insulated idiots”.
Environmentalists in the US refuse to address immigration, and it’s effects on Urban planning and nature conservation.
Until they do so they are hypocrits of the greatest degree, and is just another reason they shouldn’t be taken serious when it comes to public policy.
If the USA switched to a zero immigration policy and a Jus Sanguine citizenship requirement today, the environment of the United States would be sustainable as is for several hundred years.
IF we continue on the course of unfettered immigration and jus soli citizenship, the United States will have 600 Million citizens within 120 years and vast tracts of natural wonders will be forever gone with no benefit to the descendants of the current citizens of this country.
I’m one of the nut-job wacko types taking a close look at our agenda 21 type project here in Maine;
Any help and info from other areas of the country fighting this crapp would be most helpfull.
Nice to see you active bud, and yes I believe our “little-Dictator’s” Goal 20/20 is part of this central planning B.S.
If I forgot to mention it;
Ping me for anything related to agenda 21.
Thank you sir, may I have another ?
I will see your nutjob and raise you a tinfoil-covered pecan, 3 black walnuts and a turkey roaster. ;>
I hope the tea party will consider kicking the UN out of the USA.

(2 - Generally Agree) — Since human life begins at conception, the only reason why an abortion should be allowed at any stage of a pregnancy is to prevent the death of the mother.
Who wrote that?
Thats what you said on your conservative jobs profile...I have access to all of the surveys...
Yes, and you all are some of my favorite nutjob freepers. You all “get it” and I always enjoy your posts.
It is too bad that I do not have a whole lot of company around here. As conservative as my state is, not a whole lot of people “get it”.
It seems that all that matters around here is “Just don’t mess with the Iron Bowl”. We were sarcastically joking last week that the bottom could fall out, but fans would insist the game go on.
Then I shall change it, it must have been a slip of my keyboard (do you really think I believe that)? HONESTLY!?
>>As conservative as my state is, not a whole lot of people get it.<<
I’m not positive but I think to ‘get it’, you have to be willing to consider the possibility of there being some truth in all conspiracies, not just dismiss then out of hand.
Our constant search for truth enables us to put the pieces together quicker than the purist non-believers.
you could be a rape incest guy...
Dot connecting is our friend. :-)
Some conspiracies just explain themselves in facts.
btw... your overall conservative score on that survey was one of the very highest in the country (even with your ‘generally agree’ answer) good job!!!!
