Sarah Palin is being widely quoted tonight, telling Barbara Walters that she thinks she can beat President Obama in 2012, and is indeed exploring a Presidential bid. Is this a surprise? Of course not. As her party's Vice-Presidential candidate in 2008, Palin is on the short list of 2012 contenders, and right now it looks as though whoever the Republicans nominate will be the favorite.
So, sure, Palin could beat Obama, assuming that the Democrats re-nominate him and assuming no drastic changes in the political landscape between now and then.

With the problems Obama has triggered, I am sure that campaigning against him will be a cakewalk and the press can’t do anything about it. It’s all grassroots now and the press has no credibility.
YES
Can she beat Romney?
I hope so.
You can be sure that if the Democrat insiders think that Obama is ‘roadkill’ going into the next election that they will pressure him to stand aside, citing ‘Health’ or ‘Family’ reasons. They pull this stuff all the time in Senate campaigns where the stakes are much lower.
Sarah Palin could beat Barry Soetoro...
But I think Hillary will get the D nomination...
That would be an interesting race Palin V Clinton
Three comments:
1 Yes, she can beat Zero
2 Don’t know if she can beat the democrap candidate in 2012 - and I doubt it will be Zero.
3. Don’t count the Hildabeast out of this thing yet - no matter what she’s said.
Any conservative could beat the liberal Romney in a walk...
At this point, Palin or any other (R) could beat Obummer in a two way race without having to campaign a whole lot. Let’s look at a some recent statewide races:
58% of Michigan voters selected the (R) for Gov.
56% of Indiana voted (R) for the Senate.
Sen. Portman (R) was just elected in Ohio with 57% of the vote.
55% in North Carolina for Sen. Burr.
In North Carolina Republicans took 8 out of 11 house races ...and one race is still too close to call.
54% in New Mexico voted for Gov. Martinez (R)
52% voted (R) for Senator & Gov.
65% & 53% voted (R) for the Senator & Gov. in Iowa
60% in NH voted (R) for Sen Ayotte.
55% and 51% voted (R) for Gov. & Sen. in Pennsylvania
49% voted (R) for Senator and Gov in Florida
If that’s not bad enough. States like Washington, Oregon, Illinois, Minnesota, Colorado, Nevada and NEW JERSEY will also be in play.
What do all these states have in common? They all voted for Obummer in 2008 and have since rejected him and his policies. Going into this next election Obummer starts out with 155 “safe” electoral votes.
(Most of New England, New York, Delaware, DC, Maryland, Illinois, Hawaii and California)
The (R)candidate will start out with about 225 “safe” electoral votes with 270 needed to win.
LLS
We must have been typing at the same time!
52% voted (R) for Senator & Gov...in Wisconsin!
No, the media and OPEN PRIMARIES gave us McCain.
NH and SC are open primaries. Dems vote.
I hope so. I can’t believe all the people that think Romney’s the cat’s meow.
BTW, Thompson should give your money back. As far as I can tell, the only reason he "ran" was his wife made him. The only thing Thompson "ran" for was the door as soon as he could get out of the race.
Obama isn't going to be anywhere during the 2012 other than at the top of the DNC ticket. There is NO WAY he succumbs to a primary challenge. Why? Because he has a death grip on the Democrat party trump card - the black vote. So long as Obama enjoys 95% support amongst blacks (which is really 100% approval amongst black Democrats), it is virtually a mathematical impossibility for him to be unseated. For this reason, there isn't a chance he "takes one for the team" and refuses to seek reelection. It's not going to happen.
Lastly, Tim Kaine is not going to be the chairman of the DNC for too much longer. He will be replaced by Obama's hand-picked successor. This person's first and only job is to ensure Obama's renomination.
Dreaming about a ticket with Hilary at the top in 2012, is delusional, IMHO.
If she runs for president,Palin will have a two front fight:
1) The Democrat nominee
2) The MSM
What? Have you seen his HAIR!
He's dreamy... /s>
Can she win the Rep Nomination? Probably
Can she beat Hilda? doubtful
IMHO
Romney cannot win. Huckleberry cannot win. Pawlenty cannot win. Thune cannot win. Jindal cannot run or win. Jeb Bush cannot win. Dittos for Mitch Daniels, Paul Ryan, Rick Perry, Duncan Hunter (I or II), or the Pillsbury Doughboy.
Neither can John McCain, GWB, Bob Dole, GHWB, Gerald Ford, or anyone who resembles them in appearance or (lack of) principles.
