President Obama will give our nation’s highest civilian award to John Sweeney this week. Mr. Sweeney is the president emeritus of the AFL-CIO, a socialist activist and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. Who would the average American Joe give this award to? I would give it to the Americans who designed and implemented the rescue of the Chilean miners. That is the difference between Obama’s America and our America. He rewards the very people who are destroying our nation by implementing Socialism. We the People would reward those who are striving to fulfill the American Spirit and move us forward. Actions speak loudly and the old adage “If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, then it is a duck” is applicable here.
America is at a crossroads and a change in the political base will not be enough to save us. The Republican takeover of the House is a great first step. We have to decide if going to the polls and voting was a step or our last step. If you think that your work is now done and that everything is fine, the president has an award for you too.

Obama gives nation’s highest honor to socialist activist President Obama announced this week that he will award the Presidential Medal of Freedom – the nation’s highest civilian honor – to John Sweeney, president emeritus of the country’s biggest union, the AFL-CIO.
Sweeney is a socialist activist and a card-carrying member of the Democratic Socialists of America, or DSA, the principal American affiliate of the Socialist International. The DSA has demonstrated a close relationship with Obama over the years.
Sweeney is among 15 honorees that include former President George H.W. Bush, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and poet Maya Angelou.
“These outstanding honorees come from a broad range of backgrounds and they’ve excelled in a broad range of fields,” stated Obama. “But all of them have lived extraordinary lives that have inspired us, enriched our culture, and made our country and our world a better place.”
Sweeney is a member of the DSA’s Boston chapter. He served as president of AFL-CIO from 1995 until his retirement last September.
He previously served for four terms as president of the controversial Service Employees International Union, or SEIU. During his administration, Sweeney famously aligned the SEIU with ACORN and other leftist groups.
Activist and author Joel Kotkin, a fellow at the Progressive Policy Institute, observed how Sweeney brought communists into his union leadership.

I guess Obama figures that if people like himself and Al Gore can win the Nobel Peace Prize, then why shouldn’t some other dirt bag get the the “Presidential Medal of Freedom”.
