The media just loves to hate Sarah Palin. And, if polls are to be believed, the constant media bombardment has hurt her standing among many independents.
Unfortunately, over the last couple of weeks, even conservative media pundits such as Mona Charen, Peggy Noonan, George Will, Joe Scarborough and Matt Labash see these attacks and warn that she can’t win the presidency. They even buy into the attacks on her judgment, intelligence, and competence. But what these conservatives don’t appreciate is that Palin is being attacked because she is smart and effective, not because she is dumb.
For just how far off base her coverage by the media has been, consider the reaction when Sarah Palin, a Fox News contributor and former Alaska governor, last Wednesday accidentally referred to North Korea as an ally. It was an obvious slip of the tongue and she corrected the trivial gaffe immediately in her very next sentence. The local, national, and even international news coverage was massive, making the trivial error front-page news. A Google news search finds 834 separate news stories run just that day alone.
This is just the surface of the attacks. . . . .

IIRC, Sarah did respond to the so called joke.
She said it to make a point that Russian land, is indeed, only THREE miles from Alaskan land. (Diomede islands)
She didn't say it, Tina Fey said it. What Sarah said was, "They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska."
Same as picking on Bush, it’s the self-assurance that borders on smugness.

Some would rather be led by a smooth talking, diabolical scumbag than a folksy, average minded peach that speaks common sense and wholesome values.

And, most importantly, when they block President Palin from helping the average American, she will go on TV and "tattle" and name the names. They would have no way to shut her up when she speaks the simple and almost childlike Truth directly to the People.

I can’t even formulate words to describe a media that will ignore all of the things that are going on right now in favor of standing guard at Willow Palin’s facebook page.
They hate her because she represents the heart and soul of what America truly IS, and FEAR that we are resonating with her-!

Sarah never said she could see Russia from her house. She said you could see Russia from ALASKA, and she’s right.
I suppose the media answer to that question is “why not?”
