Well now I’m confused. After I got laid off last summer and spent six months retraining to do something else and reducing my standard of living to survive, I found a job and got hired by a rich guy who owns the business I now work for. I guess I should have been sending my resume to other unemployed people instead, huh?

The government gives people money so that they will buy goods so that jobs will arise to make those goods. Those new jobs and goods will pay the taxes to the government that will then be sent to people to buy goods. It is so obvious! The government can build instant and lush prosperity by giving vast amounts of money to unemployed people!

With the liberal claim that unemployment monies and food stamps "create jobs" they now admit that "trickle down", long thought to be discredited Republican voodoo, works after all, but only when monies extracted from the private sector are first siphoned by bureacracies, the remainder then re-introduced through government, never when allowed to remain in the private sector to begin with.

Prior to serving in the United States Senate, Brown served seven terms as a United States Congressman for the 13th District, two terms as Ohio’s Secretary of State, and has taught in Ohio’s public schools and at Ohio State University. He is married to Pulitzer Prize-winning Columnist Connie Schultz.........

Democrat senator Sherrod Brown says that unemployment benefits, not tax cuts, create jobs.

So, if all the folks on unemployment got a job, it would ruin the economy?

Dear Senator Brown,

Please explain to me why once the effects of the Reagan tax cuts started to cut in from fall 1982 on the economy took off like a missile? The Reagan tax cuts was the reason why the 1980's were such booming economic times.

The Republicans in Ohio need to start explaining, in words of one syllable when possible, why this guy is an idiot and has no clue what he is talking about and why he is wrong!

They need to set about effecting his unemployment ASAP.

What is not Pelosi whom had said earlier that Unemployment Benefits creates Jobs? She also said that Food stamps make money for America. For every 1.00 spent in Food Stamps a 1.57 is created. This most be an approved democratic talking point. Unemployment benefits and Food stamps are costing each inividual state money - the unemployment benefits funds that the employer unemployment compensation insurance is paying into has to borrow money in order to pay the unemployment compensation amounts that have been extended in excess of the 13 weeks that the law originally intended. Food Stamps funding is being funded by the US Government whom is printing and borrowing money it does not have.

Correct me if I am wrong but how are these programs creating jobs. The grocery store is not hiring any additional employees. And the few restaurants in my area are having to lay off employees because not enough people are eating at restaurants. some restaurants having increased the number of days they remain closed because the number of patrons has decreased significantly.

Unemployment Compensation, I can tell in my neighborhood there are 17 people whom receive it. 1 guy is out there on a daily basis looking for work. The reason I know is that I allow him to borrow a car for him look for work. His wife is now hospitalized with a brain tumor. They have 6 children from their prvious marriages. The other 16 are not looking for work and have no intention of looking for work. Allow me to quote “ It is nice that I can get a paid vacation, and I make 275.00 a week for 99 weeks and when the benefits run out in March 2011, I will start to look for work.” So in turn they get Food Stamps and medical care too. No desire to look for work. What a rip off.

What we need are more layoffs to stimulate the economy according to these Dem dimwits.

So we should hope for 20% or 30% unemployment?

Are the Dems a great political party or what?
