Republican Senators Pledge To Block All Legislation Until Tax Cuts Are Extended
Liberty Juice ^ | 12/02/2010 | Chris Bounds

Republican Senator Mitch McConnell told the Senate body that all 42 Senate Republicans have signed a pledge to block all legislation until the tax cuts are extended.

That letter was delivered to Harry Reid who has been more concerned about passing the food safety bill (likely to fail in the House due to a constitutional error), the DREAM Act, and football.

Video

Although the Democrats have a majority in the Senate, even if they all vote in favor of Reid’s agenda they still will need at least two Republican votes for passage. We will see who blinks first, but this is a good Republican move to force the issue before time runs out!

No Deals. Just stop all bills except the tax cuts and continuing the Government.

You can sell this easy, Democrats are more worried about wealth distribution than Jobs for the last two years.

grandstanding on this issue isn’t the “right thing”

It plays into the DNC-crafted image of the gOP as obstructionists, and suggests that when they get what they want, they’ll go back to dealing with the devil

Trust McConnell I do not

Just shut up, lay low, and git er done already. And no photo ops with Barry until he does it.

I don’t look at it as grandstanding. If this is the one way to force them to address the main two issues and leave off all the other junk like the DREAM Act and DADT then I’m all for it. This bunch in charge of the Senate is determined to take over every aspect of our lives and to force amnesty.

You’re full of it.

It says right at the top of the thread that Chris Bounds at Libertyjuice authored the whole thing.

So there.

McConnell is a little late with this maneuver! Hey Mitch, what about the passage of the Food Safety Bill you and your pals let pass? This tactic should have been the very first thing the Repubs did. You better not let the RINOs wander, Mitch!
