I have a better idea. Let's test the "public value" of the FCC.
Is the FCC sustainable?

I want to test the value of every commissioner. Not to mention every federal employee.

In a speech at the Columbia University School of Journalism in New York on Thursday, Copps also said station relicensing should happen every four years instead of the current eight. "If a station passes the Public Value Test, it of course keeps the license it has earned to use the peoples airwaves,"
Censor the enemies of the Democrat Party. Makes sense.

The public value of each radio station is tested already, and not just every eight years.
Rather, it’s tested EVERY DAY by listeners.
PBS fails such a test, as evidenced by the very few listeners they have.

The funny thing is, how stupid can someone be to make a comment like that, and be in communications?
Obama gives his flying monkeys machine guns. Not very smart.

American journalism is in "grave peril," FCC Commissioner Michael Copps says There is little "journalism" in America today. The alphabet networks don't provide it, the 24 hour "news" networks don't...
400 so-called journalists on Journolist were exposed as colluding on election coverage to shield Barack Obama from negative press.
ABC News' Mark Halperin said the same thing in 2004 (essentially we don't have to cover both sides equally and we don't have to point out the lies from both sides because Bush is more evil than Kerry...).

clearly he has no idea how many people Beck and Limbaugh can turn out into the streets of D.C. if they choose to go to Defcon 5
To: Nachum
Not to mention his proposed policy just sounds like a chicago style yearly shakedown of media corporations.

I propose instead we do a “public value test” of government employees.
To: Nachum
The government testing the “value” of something?
What could go wrong?

FoxNews is on cable but then again, the FCC is claiming power over the interwebs too.

The public value of each radio station is tested already, and not just every eight years. Rather, its tested EVERY DAY by listeners. Exactly. The public itself, not the FCC makes the final determination of the "Public Value".
