Polls of 2012 GOP contenders:
1) Montana: 545 GOP primary voters from Nov 10-13:
OVERALL MODERATES CONSERV Palin 23* 25* 22 Romney 12 10 13
2) North Carolina: 400 GOP primary voters Nov 19-21
Palin 21 27* 20 Romney 10 12 10
3) Virginia: 400 GOP primary voters Nov 10-13
Palin 17 20* 17 Romney 15 18 13
Palin leads in 3 state polls among moderates and trounces Mitt Romney in two of them. Highly significant. Is Palin outflanking Romney now among fiscal conservative-social liberal types?

Former Governor Marc Racicot and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin are preferred by Montanas Republican primary voters to lead the ticket in 2012, but by the thinnest of margins over Denny Rehberg and Mike Huckabee.

Romney is a lost cause....no matter the candidate chosen.

If this keeps up, be prepared for the GOP establishment and the Lamestream to push this idea. It seem the Romney people are also going to start to pigeon hole her into this if they can to save their guy.

What's surprising to me is that in two of the polls she's leading by a larger percentage among moderates than she is among conservatives. To this point the whole argument has been that she can't win the moderate vote.

Exactly. That is why this development is truly devastating to Team Romney, the GOP establishment and the MSM. Remember she doesn’t appeal to moderates; she’s too polarizing etc. etc.

I would like to see his name mud personally. Other wise he will be the perennial Pres candidate until he dies. He has nothing else to do.

I know this political stuff is real new and confusing for you, so here's some help.
Marc Racicot and Denny Rehberg were included in the question about the next race for US Senator from MT.
Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee were included in the question about the 2012 GOP Presidential Primary.

Um, these are GOP moderates, not overall ‘moderates’, a different set of voters. Oddly, GOP conservative support for Palin is lower in this poll than GOP moderate support for Palin. Real conservatives may be hankering for more conservative alternatives than either Palin or Romney.
Still way too early to look at polls. It’s mainly name ID, and I suspect Romney will do as well as Rudy did in 2008. We will find better candidates I hope.
“Remember she doesnt appeal to moderates; shes too polarizing etc. etc.”
Those comments are based on polls of adults which are equally useless. Palin needs to make a credible case to swing voters that she can govern better than Obama.

Phew, thanks for this... it would be good to see Racicot back in the game, and knock out a Dem-wit.

The poll has her with an 88% approval rating among liberal republicans!
Higher than anyone else, higher even than with conservative republicans.
There’s something wrong with this poll IMO.
