On a more serious note, imagine Obama attempting FCC heavyhandedness when rats are mad at their own web administrators for blocking leftist dissent against the creep. I don’t foresee a solid popular support network that will fanatically oppose free speech.

It’s a dealbreaker — if Congress reimposes the so-called Fairness Doctrine, the lid will come off.

:') And thanks again, Arthur Wildfire! March. And for this, thanks STARWISE, a nice summation of why the leftists never "raise taxes on the rich": And thanks Ernest_at_the_Beach for another Epic Fail (not just Zero's, but the entire Soros wing):

Good deal.

Except for the return of the death tax.

good “deal”
horrific public policy.
more short term stimulus that adds to the deficit .... new deficit spending. And ZERO permanent reduction of the tax rates.

EXPIRING TAX CUTS ARE A NIGHTMARE. So we just did another batch of them.

Yeah the damn cuts should never have been sunsetted, we knew that at the time. Shame on them not forcing it though the Republican Congress when we had the chance. I guess it was the threat of a Senate filibuster that caused them to be sunsetted?

If we have a proper government in 2013 they better address this. Make all the cuts permanent and kill the death tax for good.

In the meantime it was this deal, or see taxes rise in January. Ugh.

At least the rat base is furious.

no. GOP could have gotten a better deal. They should have insisted on making some of the cuts permanent, even if they had to let other cuts expire and see a tax hike.

temporary tax cuts are horrific. Investors look at the permanent rates coming back in 2 years, not at the temporary rate. So the “supply side” growth is lessened. And, yet, revenues to the FEDS is lower due to the lower rate today ... leading to deficits .... leading to higher future rates to deal with the deficit.

I see the compromise as a joke cuz GOP got NOTHING permanent in the lower rates. Not even some small amount of it. ALL the cuts are remaining temporary. what a nightmare.

new slogan: GOP, bringing you expiring tax cuts since 2001.

Can’t really disagree.

I remember my dismay in 2001 when I learned the cuts were sunsetted.
