Summer of Peace (Tide Foundation)
Summer of Peace ^ | 2010 | Staff

Posted on 12/07/2010 9:40:58 AM PST by bronxville

The Summer of Peace is currently pursuing one principal program in each area of our organizing framework highlighted above:

Top-Down: “Cities of Peace” Initiative

Over the last thirty years, several US cities have successfully undertaken bold civic engagement projects that have mobilized every sector of society in support of a common goal, from rebuilding decaying infrastructures and revitalizing downtown areas, to upgrading failing school systems and restoring fragile ecosystems. Such change efforts generally involve broad-scale citizen involvement through town hall meetings, task forces, roundtables of recognized leaders from every sector of civil society, and the like.

However, no region has harnessed such an approach in support of peacebuilding – until now.

The Cities of Peace Initiative has begun to galvanize the support of sector conveners – key leaders in business, education, grassroots communities, healthcare, labor, politics, religion and every other sector of civil society.

These leaders will form a regional Steering Committee, which will work with citizen task forces to design and implement region-wide initiatives to engage all of society in policies, programs and activities supporting the shift to a culture of peace.

Bottom-Up: “Peace Week” and "Summer of Peace Events" in 2012

Peace Week will be a smaller version of the Summer of Peace Activities in 2012, demonstrating the power that comes from collaboration among many groups.

Peace Week will consist of a broad range of public awareness and engagement activities culminating with the International Day of Peace—September 21.

Events are still in development, but will likely include a Peace Film Festival, a Youth Hip Hop Rally for Peace, School Assemblies on Nonviolence, a Transformational Retreat for At-Risk Youth, an Anti-Bullying Training for Parents and Teachers, Workshops on Conflict Transformation, Participatory Community Theater for Conflict Resolution, Community Grief Rituals, Workshops & Trainings on Violence Prevention, a Social Artistry training, a Community Challenge Day, DreamCamp Weekend for At-Risk Youth, Community Altars, Sit-at-thons (Community Meditation Days) and more!

More than just a splash of activities, Peace Week will showcase best-in-class peacebuilding work; generate large-scale community involvement in peace practices and leadership development; and foster volunteer engagement through Web 2.0 tools and in-person opportunities, which will amplify the power of the activities to create enduring change.

Additionally,

Peace Week will invite municipalities to embrace a “Bold Goal for the Week”, such as dramatically reducing violent crime in certain districts, thus creating an inspiring template for what is possible.

Peace Week events will be taped and released via major media outlets—including radio, internet, TV, and social networking sites – inspiring others around the globe.

Inside-Out: Peace Practices

“A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members.” -Mahatma Gandhi

The success of the Summer of Peace will, to a great degree, be gauged by the long-term establishment of proven peace practices in our culture.

Our “Peace Practices” program area centers on this work, with three primary areas of focus:

1. Most Vulnerable Populations (“MVPs”) - Addressing those most vulnerable to cycles of conflict and violence, as victims or perpetrators – such as youth, girls and women, seniors, the poor, probationers and parolees without support, groups most at risk for hate crimes and others.

The MVPs program establishes strategic partnerships that amplify the impact of groups already doing leading-edge work with these populations – such as our flagship partnership with Urban Peace Movement (formerly the renowned Silence the Violence program of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights.)

2. Peace teams – Identifying and recruiting skilled healers, therapists and peace practitioners who can be mobilized to Bay Area “hot spots” as pressing needs arise.

3. Educational work – Offering classes, retreats, workshops, etc. on peace-related issues. Core team members will lead several programs, and Summer of Peace will provide a clearinghouse for other such offerings. Outside-In: Web 2.0 Platforms

Since a culture of peace begins with a shift in consciousness in citizens, an essential element of our approach will be to create powerful media and web platforms that encourage people to make shifts in their lives. Much of this will be citizen-generated and will include such things as viral videos, podcast interviews with peace pioneers, online music competitions, Twitter online messaging campaigns that mobilize the public for collective projects, and the creation of web infrastructure to support the formation of neighborhood peace circles.

We will also include volunteer resource-matching for at-risk populations, akin to what some groups are doing with micro-finance in the developing world, pairing lenders with new entrepreneurs.

As the San Francisco Bay Area is the epicenter for new Internet technology and media, we will use Peace Week and the Summer of Peace 2010 as a way to prototype new applications of social media for social transformation, which will lead to a platform that can support peacebuilding work around the world through our partnerships with global peace organizations.

Summer of Peace (Tides - Drummond Pike)

Our Unique Organizing Framework

"...enduring peace never comes from a single approach such as grassroots change or legislation alone. Instead, a community or society must pursue multiple avenues of change to create enduring peace.

Building on these insights, the Summer of Peace has created an integral organizing framework for accelerating the shift to a culture of peace in the Bay Area: Top-Down, Bottom-Up, Inside-Out, Outside-In.

Top-Down - leverages legislative, judicial and other mandated forms of change;

Bottom-Up - focuses on grassroots community-oriented involvement in change;

Inside-Out - cultivates practices for “inner” transformations that contribute to peace;

Outside-In - leverages media & web technology to turn interest into engagement and enduring networks. http://www.summerofpeace.net/Organizing-Framework.php

Thereagain it appears on the surface to be a peaceful movement. They’re just getting people together to teach peace (social justice” -

I did wonder why Drummond Pike left Tides. I guess he’s been busy “organizing” peace in the community. It takes big bucks for sure...

Just guessing but I suspect the only way to bring about peace is to take money from the rich and sieze control of corporations.

The date they chose for their International Peace day is suspect - just before the elections - Obama knew he’d only get 4yrs - he said it himself. The use of the word “peace” as a cover is masterful. Tides is linked to powerful monied people. This will be a well-coordinated event where something will “happen” at each of them which will trigger a huge revolution. The end justifies the means.

The only way to stop it is to plug the money spigot.

I could be wrong about the whole thing but the poople involved, framework, date, etc., tells me otherwise...

Here's the 'peace' these monsters are after - for you and me:

They are monsters - killers without conscience. There is only one way to stop them.

Exactly but he left one out, namely, “Outside-In - leverages media & web technology to turn interest into engagement and enduring networks.”

Engagement = Anarchy. Enduring networks = they need to own ALL of them for the duration.

It’s a top down deal with many orgs in between, the big media “owned” Barry Diller, Google, GE, Gannitt etc. Then there’s PBC/NPR and The Center for Public Integrity (went international within a year)...funded by Soros, Freedom Forum (gannitt, usa today, and other lefties... Look up the board on Freedom Forum... I have it somewhere and will post it later time permitting. They also formed Newseum who give media awards to their favorite people. They’re all linked to each other.

The original framework came from the bogus Apal Scare. The National Research Council (NRC)/David Fenton boasted about it on one of their webpages until recently. It was funded by Tides.

Unfortunately, in our naivety, we’ve been funding ourselves into oblivion. We trusted the whole system too much, especially our “watchdog” information source, the media.

The Industrial Media Complex (TIMC).

That’s an excellent essay Noumenon. Thank you.

They confuse people by the constant namechanges and appear not get along while behind closed doors they are in perfect unison. We’re supposed to stay focused on Germany but it will be Russia - all along Russia - only supernatural powers will thwart them - thereagain I’m a Catholic and we have the word of Our Lady of Fatima. All will be well...in time...

Before the middle of the nineteenth century the term [Communism] was used in its more general sense, even by socialists. Marx and Engels called the celebrated document in which they gave to socialism its first “scientific” expression, the “Communist Manifesto” - the didn’t use Socialism since it wasn’t invented until 1833, in England. I’ve been backtracking everything I was led to believe, seeking the truth, and letting the chips fall where they may...long before Glenn. :) The Marx story is too pat - follow the money. Do you know of John Ruskin? I believe he was the Brits check and balance to Marx. Check him out - he leads to Cecil Rhodes, yeah, that Rhodes. An interesting path...

Do you remember this interview with Dr. John Drew, classmate of President Obama’s, at Occidental College....
http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2010/10/exclusive-transcript-obama-at.html

History of Communism -

The earliest operation of the communistic principle of which we have any record, took place in Crete about 1300 B.C. All the citizens were educated by the State in a uniform way, and all ate at the public tables. According to tradition, it was this experiment that moved Lycurgus to set up his celebrated regime in Sparta. Under his rule, Plutarch informs us, there was a common system of education, gymnastics, and military training for all the youth of both sexes. Public meals and public sleeping apartments were provided for all the citizens. The land was redistributed so that all had equal shares....

If you go to the site there are links to the source(s).

A few encyclicals from previous Popes - the earliest on this crisis was 1846 -

“IV. SOCIALISM, COMMUNISM, SECRET SOCIETIES, BIBLICAL SOCIETIES, CLERICO-LIBERAL SOCIETIES
Pests of this kind are frequently reprobated in the severest terms in the Encyclical “Qui pluribus,” Nov. 9, 1846, Allocution “Quibus quantisque,” April 20, 1849, Encyclical “Noscitis et nobiscum,” Dec. 8, 1849, Allocution “Singulari quadam,” Dec. 9, 1854, Encyclical “Quanto conficiamur,” Aug. 10, 1863” THE SYLLABUS OF ERRORS CONDEMNED BY PIUS IX, 1864
Encyclical On Faith and Religion by Pope Pius IX, 1846
http://www.catholicessentials.net/communism.htm

“Rerum Novarum” of Pope Leo XIII is an excellent encyclical. Encyclical loosely means message to, we, the people, the body of Christ. They’re sent at times of crisis. Pope Benedict also sent us one which was butchered by The Industrial Media Complex (TIMC) - they took one line from it and stated that the Pope was for a New World Order. It’s only a rare secularist who’d check to see if they were being truthful especially in an age when we’re supposedly full of pedophiles aka homo-peds most of which were infiltrators. (not excusing but it was 3-4% -much less than ALL other separate large groups in the general population) and certainly much less than the Education Dept who has stated that they expect 10% this year). The TIMC did, of course, take it out of context.

I’m a real catholic, we’ve been trying to get the word out for decades. We have our own blogs etc. Read Fr. Malachi Martin (RIP) who was smeared as a kook on the web by the alinskyities just as Glenn Beck is being smeared today. Fr Martin was fully fluent in at least 14 languages, wrote numerous books and articles, an expert on the Dead Sea Scrolls, etc. A learned good man - they shread to bits. He had to go on Art Bell type shows to sell his books aka get the word out. He was the one who set me on a path of truth - my veil was totally removed over a year ago - I remember it well and what cleared it for me. I’ll post it later.

The Church has been infiltrated periodly for 2000 years but none as bad as this investation. It was infiltrated big-tme in the late ‘50’s, which led to Vat II by usupers within, hence the weakened state today but we’re growing stronger under Pope Benedict. We remain infiltrated but know who they are and shout their names loudly. I’ve got an indepth thesis on the beginning of Alinsky in the Catholic Church(s), Chicago.

I have no need to check any of the above as I know them to be true from my own research over the years.

PS: The APOLLO Aliance is not an accident...The Greek Pillars at Obama’s Inauguration was not an accident. The banking group Apollo nor are the Greek names they call their takeovers an accident. Oracle IT isn’t an accident... Blackrock/Blackstone are also not an accident despite what their CEO’s claim. They’re into symbolism - always have been...witness the USSR. We’ve been led to concentrate on Germany, a good thing, but we should never take our eye off Russia because the “Cold War” never ended, Gorbachev just took his “Earth Charter” and moved it into the UN with Maurice Strong.

PS: Time to stop the separation of the religious from the secular. I don’t know about you but I’m both. If you’re a different religion, an atheist, Jew, Muslim, whatever, I don’t care so long as we know what’s up and we stay united to fight this pestilence.

Yes, they want 1 billion serfs only...and Christians are at the bottom of the list.

Ruskin’s predessors Cecil Rhodes and Alfred Milner formated thhe master/slave society based upon the principles of eugenics as derived from Plato’s Republic - Plato’s Republic is key to this recent phenomenom vis a vis John Ruskin.

Malthusian Eugenics is the philosophy of depopulation through the reduction of inferior races “human weeds” and the selective breeding of “a race of thoroughbreds” as one can see by the Rockefeller-funded, Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger. Soros/USAID has been using our tax dollars to promote this throughout the world. They started in the Balkans. (Hillary Clinton got the Margaret Sanger award.)

Thomas Malthus’ theory of population was later coupled with Charles Darwin’s evolutionary model, resulting in what is today known as Social Darwinism. It’s taught kinda like the climate change scam.

PS: Reagan severed all ties with UNESCO (probably when he found out about George Schultz) - GW Bush re-aligned us with them!!!
