Richardson may visit North Korea

With the situation in North Korea having gotten pretty dicey in recent months, Gov. Bill Richardson – a favorite of the North Korean government – may be heading back there next week.

That’s according to the Washington Post:

“Adm. Mike Mullen, the Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, is off this week to South Korea to tell officials that the United States is standing with them. And there’s talk that outgoing New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson may be off to North Korea next week for a private chat with top officials at the invitation of key people in the nuclear crowd over there.”

Richardson, a former ambassador and a global troubleshooter, has negotiated with the North Koreans several times in the past. In fact, during the Bush presidency, the North Koreans came to Santa Fe to talk to Richardson rather than going to Washington.

This was SO predictable over the last two weeks in light of North Korea's attack on Yeongpyongdo in South Korea.

We said here on FR, either watch Albuquerque Airport, or Atlanta Airport, for kowtowing rumbling movements by the two biggest appeasers in the United States. I am sure they have already gotten their engraved invitations from the Diplomatic Office of the North Koreans at the UN in New York City, to come up to Pyongyang, sample the Taedong Beer, and kiss Chia Pet and little fat Junior's butts. Of course, Obama will sign off on all of this. His own back aches from bowing to foreign leaders.

The Soviets had a word for these type. I believe it was "useless idiots", or probably more correctly, Останки дерьмом.

I hope Ambassador Bolton, Sarah Palin and some others weigh in on this idiocy, repeating our same return to our vomit wihout learning ANY LESSONS on how to isolate, strangle and accordingly subjegate an out-of-control D.P.R.K.

If a war breaks out, hopefully it is while he is there.

Richardson knows that the little commie dictator in Pyongyang isn’t doing well. I think Billy is after his job. He spends more time in North Korea than the little dicatator does.

HARD BREAK**

North Korea is now shelling just northeast of South Korea's Baeknyangdo island, in the vicinity of Daechong Island (also South Koreas island), near the NLL. These firings started (withing North Korean territorial waters but very close to South Korean naval maneuvers) at approximatly 0900 a.m. local (Korean Time / 7:00 p.m East Coast Time 7 December), which was 2:20 hours ago; the release came at 1100 a.m. local, which was 20 minutes ago. Moving on Korean wires.t was to be expected that they would start shelling in an area near the South Korean navy. If they try for a direct hit on either of those two islands, hold on to your hats folks.

Believe me, appeasement leads to this behavior. We never learn, Republican and Democrat Administration alike, do we. Richardson may never get his planned trip to Pyongyang after all. Better call Carter, Clinton and Jesse Jackson as well to not even bother.

Breaking. South Korean YTN also carrying this news.

Link HERE to video stream of report on DPRK shelling near South Korean island about two hours ago, in vicinity of South Korean military training/maneuvers. Might stream on most machines (after short South Korean CM).

It's typical DPRK brinksmanship and was kind of expected for today if not by the weekend, to kick even more sand in the ROK's face. It is either from DPRK shore into their own waters, clearly east of the NLL zone, or it is something on the sea surface (to sea surface), in that waterway (DPRK territory) between the island and North Korean coastline--where they have been known to practice in the past). For show mostly I would say. Fire for effect. All they need to do is ramp it up, though.

I guess tonight's Pyongyang News will report that Fat Junior, the "Youth Captain" (as they now refer to him) Kim Jong Eun was there giving on the spot guidance to the missile targetting team. /sarc

you cannot make this stuff up.

BILL RICHARDSON AND OTHER APPEASERS! STAY HOME! STAY OUT OF IT!

Brinksmanship shelling briefly this morning in the sea area (DPRK territorial waters) just east of the green line, near the two islands just south of the South Korean flag.

In that waterway, to the Northeast of those two South Korean islands.

Green line is where South Korea/World Community says the demarcation is; red line is where the NORKIES say, they stop and South Korea begins. You can see quite a differenc of opinion!

Correction to my comments on map: Two (S. Korean) islands just to the RIGHT of the South Korean flag. Beyond that the Green NLL line, and then further northeast, beyond that, where North Korea naval shelling about three hours ago, while S. Korean Navy was training/drilling in that area as well. Unclear how many firings. It/they could be heard in the distance. (9:50 p.m. Eastern)
