A mob protesting increased university tuition rampaged through London. Thugs attacked the car carrying Prince Charles, heir to the throne, breaking a window, poking his wife Camilla with a stick, and dowsing the car with paint, while shouting “Off with their heads!” and “Tory scum!”

In a “defiant rebuke,” House Democrats revolted against President Obama’s tax compromise, throwing the situation into confusion. They railed against “tax cuts for the very rich,” although in fact many small business people file individual tax returns. They would see their taxes rise − and their ability to hire new workers impaired − if Congress doesn’t act by year’s end.

Can you see the relation between these two events? British rioters rampaged through London, destroying property, trashing a statue of Churchill, and attacking the car of Prince Charles. Some members of the mob carried cans of gasoline. We can be thankful that the can thrown on the prince’s car contained paint, not gasoline, though this was due to luck, not to the efficiency of his protective detail.

Meanwhile in Washington, congressional Democrats revolted against President Obama’s leadership, stridently rejecting his tax compromise with the Republicans. The president’s credibility was severely damaged. No, demonstrators didn’t throw paint on the president’s car, rock it back and forth, break a window, and poke Michelle Obama with a stick. But the president’s ability to lead his own party was rocked. Fortunately, the president’s protective detail is more effective than the prince’s, especially since 9/11.

Yes, leftists (excepting the very few who come out on top) are self-destructive. After all, if these useless idiots achieve their goal, they will be living under a Party/serf paradigm, with the vast majority of them on the serf side. The more vocal of them such as union leaders, community “leaders,” environmentalist activists, etc., don’t have to worry about that - they will be killed right off the bat.

The problem is they will bring US along with them if they succeed.

The bigger problem is that I’m starting to believe a majority of Americans truly are useless idiots. A moajority of Europeans certainly are...

I found it amusing that the students attacked Prince Charles’ car.

Charles is, after all, a Global Warmer & the epitome of the nanny state socialism run by elites in GB. But for his lineage, he would probably be out there tossing paint himself.
