The Looming Iran Venezuela Crisis

The knowledge of cooperation between Iran and Venezuela in turning much of Latin America against the international interests of the United States, Israel, and the West has been growing increasingly obvious for quite some time. Also glaringly obvious has been the complete lack of a plan to address this situation and preventing the coming cascade of opposition to American interests in our hemisphere. Not paying much mind to Iran in the Middle East is one thing, ignoring their infectious presence on our borders is completely different. We have sat complacently watching as Iran’s President Ahmadinejad and Venezuela’s President Chavez have worked to bring President Ortega back to power in Nicaragua and swayed Brazil’s President Lula to also join the coalition. President Lula and Brazil played an important role with Prime Minister Erdogan and Turkey in the move to belittle President Obama’s efforts to isolate Iran over their nuclear program. By claiming to have completed a deal for swapping Iranian nuclear material for finished fuel rods, Turkey and Brazil assisted Iran in initially avoiding further pressures from the United States, the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and all others working towards preventing Iranian efforts towards attaining nuclear weaponry.

Iran with the assistance of numerous Latin American countries have also meddled in efforts to reach a negotiated settlement between Israel and the Palestinians by signaling their readiness to recognize a Palestinian state with the 1949 Armistice Lines as their border and Jerusalem as the Palestinian Capital. This move along with the readiness of the majority of the European Union to also recognize an unilaterally declared Palestinian State with the pre 1967 Armistice Lines as the border with Jerusalem as their Capital has severely threatened to undermine any and every effort to reach a negotiated settlement. The Latin American countries who have signed on to this effort, have done so largely at the prodding of Iran and their close allies in Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Brazil and a growing number of other States. But all of these are minor threats compared to the dual threat now being posed by Iran with full cooperation from Venezuela.

The first leg of this threat has been the steady flow of Iranian sponsored terror cells introduced into the Americas through Venezuela. These efforts have been further aided by the willingness of Venezuela to supply these terrorists with Venezuelan identification and documentation thus give freedom of movement through Central America into Mexico from where gaining entrance to the United States is more readily facilitated. How many terrorists have been inserted into the United States is unknown, but the numbers of OTM (Other than Mexicans) in general and "Special Interest Alien" which include OTM illegal aliens from special interest countries including Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan, Cuba, Brazil, Ecuador, China, Russia, Yemen, Albania, Yugoslavia and Afghanistan. This has been a growing problem of considerable concern but has been kept quietly out of the major news cycles so as not to alarm people to the seriousness of the situation. But, even this problem is dwarfed by what is soon to come.

If you are old enough, you probably remember the Cuban Missile Crisis spanning September and October of 1962 during the Presidency of John F Kennedy. Well, in the immortal words of Yogi Berra, “It’s like Déjà vu all over again.” I am referring to an agreement between Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Iran to place launch sites for Iranian ballistic missiles within Venezuelan territory. This would enable Iranian missiles configured in such a forward deployment to threaten much of the continental United States. This would radically change the ground rules of the Iranian threat from that of targeting all of the Arab oil fields, all of Europe east of Paris, Egypt and others in Northern Africa, all of the Persian Gulf, India, American troops and bases in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as Europe, and of course, Israel to one that would add vast amounts of continental America to the target list. Should such a condition of threat materialize, it would provide President Obama with that crisis moment that some Democrat strategists have actually hoped for so the President could be perceived as Presidential and could come through being strong in a crisis. Me, personally, I could very well do without such situations where I become a possible target for weapons of mass destruction so our President could respond Presidentially and receive the accolades his supporters claim he so richly deserves. If situations add to this scenario the fact that Iran attains nuclear capability with a ballistic missile deliverable nuclear weapon, I just might have to decide between moving to Alaska in order to be out of range, or make Aliyah to Israel as under such circumstances I would be a possible target either way. The ultimate consequence of this development coming to fruition would be that addressing the Iran situation would be placed front and center and could no longer be procrastinated, kicked down the road I believe is the term used in Washington DC. With such a threat even remotely possible and emerging on the horizon simply emphasizes the immediate need to take serious and necessary actions to end any possibility of threat from Iran.

Good read. Whatever happened to the Monroe Doctrine? Right, old dead white man and a Royal Navy that hasn't been able to project power for decades.

So long to the Pax Americana. It was good knowing you.

I predict that Obama will channel his inner JFK on this one:

"Any missile attack launched from Venezuela, against any nation in the Western Hemisphere, will be deemed by this Administration as an attack by Iran against the United States, and will be met with a prompt apology, complete with bowing and kissing of feet."

Once the terror masters initiate their killing of American innocents they and their sponsors will be exterminated.

Then those who enabled their entry to kill us will pay a severe price.

Unfortunately we are forced into a situation where we can only react to terror because of Obamas Policy of International Political Correctness we are powerless to enact any measure of prevention.
