What a year it has been. If 2010 is remembered for anything it will be the fact that America started off on January 1st with President Obama and by Christmas we ended up with President Reagan. Or at least that is what the White House wants us to believe. You doubt that this is the message from the White House? Consider the following:
1) President Obama got the US Senate to ratify an awful arms control agreement with Russia called START by claiming that President Reagan would have supported it. Of course, President Reagan believed in negotiating from a position of strength, and not negotiating away an American strength in strategic weapons to play into a Russian strength in tactical nukes. Well played, Gorbachev. I mean Medvedev. I mean Putin.
2) The White House has announced that President Obama will spend his holiday in Hawaii reading the excellent biography by Lou Cannon, "President Reagan: The Role of a Lifetime." Why announce this except to make Obama appear to be similar to Reagan? Of course, President Reagan came back from bad polls and a troubled economy to sweep 49 states in 1984.
3) President Obama jettisoned his socialist economic bona fides last week when he agreed to support the idea that no America should have taxes increase in a recession. More importantly, his team of economic advisors agreed that tax revenue would increase by allowing the wealthier to keep and invest their money. Hmmm . . . sounds like supply-side economics, such as we had driving the longest economic expansion in American history under the stewardship of Ronald Reagan.
Don't get me wrong. I would love to have Ronald Reagan's policies guiding America again. However, if the message this holiday season is that President Obama is the next President Reagan...

President Reagan loved America and Americans. That’s going to be Barry’s biggest obstacle when he tries to pass himself off as America’s First Black President Reagan. Barry doesn’t think that way.

This is a cynical attempt by Obama’s Leftist handlers to change his imagine. They think if Obama reads something about one of the greatest American presidents ever that somehow he’ll be transformed into something Obama can never be: An American and a conservative. You can put wings on a garbage truck and call it a Lear Jet all you want but it ain’t gonna fly! Obama reading about President Ronald Wilson Reagan and trying to learn something is like trying to make camels into race horses.
