Topographic Map Symbols from U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey
Shouldn’t this be breaking news???
Typical leftist: “Oh, you right-wing-nuts and your bothersome FACTS! My feelings are more important and I feel that those are not map symbols. Stop confusing me with truth and facts. It makes my head hurt.”
We need to abandon this line of reasoning. Sarah herself tweeted about the map and called it the “bullseye map,” So to go back now and say that’s not what it was is just phony.

This post is a hate crime and will inspire violence or something somewhere.
OH YEAH!!!!! FMCDH(BITS) !!!!!!!!
Agreed.....The symbols don't even match.
Notice how the lines extend from the circles in the Governor's graphic.
Someone needs to tell the ACLU about the airport symbol. Also the cemetery symbol. Separation of church and state issue.
I admit that even I initially thought that Palin’s target symbols were cross-hairs, but, SO WHAT if they are/were? The DLC, DSCC and many other “official” and unofficial Dem outlets have used bullseyes or similar means. That’s just fair game. If you want to talk about truly violent imagery, the demonstrations of the left include far more examples than the occasional wackjobs (or outright infiltrators) at a conservative rally.
I think Sarah was calling for the death of Arizona. And Colorado. And N. Dakota.
But here's an easy experiement: Go to Google Image Search and see what comes up when you search for images of "target" and "bullseye". Nothing like what the Palin graphic used, but quite similar to what the Democrat graphic used.
For those in the media who think any kind of rifle is an "AK47", here's what a target looks like:
Why is the USGS inciting people with crosshairs to destroy “principal locations”?
Thanks for explaining the meaning. I was sort of lost.
Representative Brady is the guy behind banning the use of such signs in the presence of something to do with a Congresscritter who might be made uncomfortable by them.
All I can say to that is
...............{}.......
...........nn{}nn......... to you Brady,
There is nothing wrong with using a crosshair to indicate a targeted district. No one in their right mind thinks it suggests violence. Dont accept the leftist idiots premise. Making lame excuses plays into their hands.
Can I still use these printer registration markds and not risk being labelled insensitive?
OMG, the Department of the Interior want to KILL US ALL!!!1!!!!
Do a Google image search for GIS software, and you’ll find symbols pretty much identical to what were used on the Palin map. If they wanted to use rifle crosshairs, it would have been easy enough to find an image of that. But they didn’t. They used map making symbols.
