Theres a narrative about Sarah Palin that goes something like this: until the Arizona shootings she coulda been a contender. But then with her ill-judged reference to a blood libel she lost it, whereas the mighty President Obama only added to his stature with a temperate, thoughtful speech which united America behind him. Bye bye Sarah Palin.
Yeah, right.
No one is saying Sarah Palin doesnt make the odd gaffe. But no matter how many gaffes she makes and this wont be the last it isnt going to alter the fact that President Obama is a socialist and his administration a crazy house of eco-loons, crypto-Marxists, progressives, collectivists, surrender monkeys and anarcho-lesbian harpies. Nor that Sarah Palin remains the figurehead for the counter-revolution.
As exhibit a, I present the above moving, exquisitely tasteful tribute song, currently going viral on the internet. It doesnt matter who Sarah Palin is any more. Its what she stands for: liberty, small government, the Tea Party. Itll take more than a few liberal smears to trample values as powerful as that.
Altogether now: Shes not a Harvard lawyer but she knew what the Founders meant

“.. am getting back at you for letting me believe you were a man for a year.”
Har! Funny how that works. There we were in the same foxhole for a year and you didn’t know I was a “she”. Don’t know, Candor. Maybe it’s because you keep your eyes on the target.
Uhhh...can we still say “target?”
Yes. well I am not the smartest when it comes to that, and yes, we can still say target. LOL.We MUST still say target.
When I discovered that so many of my Freeper friends were of the so called gentler sex, I was mystified and then celebratory.I have a very healthy and abiding respect for feminine wisdom. It has a particularly wakeful quality.Of course I would rather sleep, and thus the paradox and the explanation for the fact itself.
“As Candor stated previously, we are a varied crew here, and you will find out as you go, that no matter what the subject, both intelligence and humor shine brightly on Free Republic.”
“We are the home away from home where there is always someone to talk to whether its noon or the middle of the night...like me, for instance.”
“If you want or need a hug or a prayer, we have that too.
Welcome to FR.”
Thank you very much.
As to ping lists there is no master list of them that I know of, generally you can read an article from one ( eg. Anne Coulter Ping List) and ask the person posting the article to be put on the list. This is usually done privately through Freep Mail. The private ping lists are like mini fraternities, once you encounter one, you can ask to be included. They are generally topic area specific, and if you find yourself interested in one topic or another , you will encounter the list manager. Just look for the PING post on an article thread. As to posting text, the convention here is that it is usually at the top unless its from an outside source. Also if you mention a Freepers name in your post it is also a convention here to include them when you post. There is no quote button. Its good to have a home page, and most put info. there but generally nothing that would make them insecure. You access that by clicking account on your mail page.
Ok. I think I got that. Thank you very much for the information.
I made this link for my reference:
Hey it all works, and itallics too!
I even updated my Profile Page (which is what I assume was the home page that you mentioned). I did not put up anything really specific about me such as my photo or where I live or work or go to school.
Although I was able to successfully combine links and graphics to create a couple of neat pictures that are “click-able” that go to a couple of websites that are really interesting and do give a bit of a clue as to my background. :-)
My understanding is that this site is totally open to the whole world, not just the members, so that anyone visiting the site can view any page on the forum, including the member profile pages.
I want to be free to post what I really feel, without worrying about some idiot finding me or using it against me at some time in the future. Especially if I find it necessary to keep my true feelings to myself in order to do my present or my future job and career.
The nature of information on the Internet / World Wide Web is that once you put a bit of information out there, it’s out there for ever. You can delete it, but if it has been picked up by someone or something else you can’t call it back.
Caution is in order for all world wide web accessible open communication.
Thanks again for all your help the for the friendly warm welcome!
onyx, I know this is a dead thread, but wanted to comment on the song on You Tube. It occurs to me that if Sarah is reaching that segment of society she may have the WH in the bag. Those “salt of the earth” folks actually don’t usually bother with politics or go to vote. We may be seeing something way out of the ordinary here. She may be taking on the persona of a “folk heroine”, sort of like Annie Oakley. Wouldn’t that be a hoot.
You have it to a “T.”
You are welcome.
Have fun, and I am sure you will find your niche and be of considerable help.
Each one of us will play their part in the battles to come.
Good luck.
I'm spreading this around. If you have a few minutes.
