Theres been a lot of chatter about Mike Pence and a potential Presidential bid by him. From National Review to the Washington Examiner, to George Will to others at the Washington Post, even to Ericks post here on RedState, people are wondering will he or wont he. Supposedly hes making his decision this weekend about whether he will run for President or Governor of Indiana.
I think he should run. While not denigrating the other potential GOP candidates for President in 2012, ask yourself: do any of them really excite you? That should clear out half the field right there, if not three fourths. Then ask yourself who has held true to his or her principles under fire, time and time again? Im not saying standing up and proclaiming this or that: words mean nothing to me. Its what you actually do, and Mike Pences voting record has shown from No Child Left Behind to Medicare Part D to TARP to the stimulus bill, even taking a stand against the recent tax compromise, he has talked and walked the walk.
Then ask who you think has the ability to excite the base and not alienate independents? Keep asking yourself questions along these lines, and throw in the fact that Mike Pence is a very good communicator of the ideas we hold dear, and you start to realize a Mike Pence for President bid could really take off.
People have said hes not that well known; Ive done informal surveys with tea party leaders from across the country. They know him and they are fans.

If he’s smart he’ll go for governor first. And I do think he is smart.
This fella doesnt know that Pence will not alienate independent voters, in fact no one knows since no one has officially started their campaign or offered their plans where independents can look at it and make up their mind......this feint dig at Palin is ridiclous. I like Pence but he needs executive experience and that’s where he is going to do, all sighs as of now points to being the Governor of Indiana
“If hes smart hell go for governor first. And I do think he is smart”
I agree. He will probably cruise to the Governorship and who would not want to be a Governor. A great job.
We need to look beyond Pence and Demint. They are not going to run. I’m looking at Cain and Bachmann. Two very good candidates.
I’m going to try to avoid the question until the contestants take the field. Otherwise I might become depressed.

We will find out tonight about his 2012 plams.
Tonight?? has he scheduled a conference?
Hannity just said on his radio show that Pence will not run for President in 2012. Good. He may be a great guy, a great conservative , but in the end he is an old white haired white guy, the old face of the Republican Party. We need fresh and young to be the face of Conservatives.
Pence has white hair. But he is young. look at his face. He’s 51.
