Kermit Gosnell: Killing For No Good Reason
www.caffeinatedthoughts.com ^ | 1/27/11 | David Shedlock

David Harsanyi of the Denver Post said that if the pro-life movement is going to win the hearts and minds of the rest of the nation, it's not going to need more God. It's going to need more reason. He appears to be generally against abortion, but he is concerned that other irreligious people like himself might be turned off by anti-abortion signs that say Baptists for Life, Catholics for Life, Lutherans for Life.  He did not take a stand on the practice of showing gruesome pictures of cut-up little babies, but I suspect he thinks those turn off people, too.

His article was spurred on by two events in the news: The March for Life in Washington, DC, and the arrest of Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell for violating the sensibilities of the Philadelphia prosecutor, Seth Williams, who charged him with waiting two minutes too long to kill seven of his victims.  You see, some of the pesky babies in late-term abortions manage to outwit their assailants and survive.  That is bad form and gives assassins a bad reputation, so it was necessary for Gosnell to finish the job with a sharp pair of scissors to the back of the neck.  It is similar to the old adage about making sure you don’t miss when you shoot at the king.  No one wants a living baby out there testifying against you in a wrongful life suit.

In his 1980s book, Time for Anger: The Myth of Neutrality, Frank (Franky) Schaeffer once wrestled with the insanity of a culture charging one person with murder for being two minutes too late, while applauding the same brutality committed a few minutes earlier....   Barack Obama is at least consistent on this, so look for him to issue a pardon to Gosnell.

Abortion is legalized murder.

Abortion is an abomination.

Most abortions are performed on minorities especially blacks and that could be considered genocide.

Since democrats support abortion, democrats are in favor of the genocide of black people.

The radical pro-abort Obama Administration will give Pennsylvania $160 million tax dollars to set up a new “high-risk” insurance program under a provision of O'Care---his federal health care legislation. The Obama Admin has quietly approved a plan submitted by an appointee of pro-abortion Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell under which the new program will cover any abortion that is legal in Pennsylvania.

<><> The high-risk pool program is one of the new programs created by the sweeping health care legislation, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, President Obama signed into law on March 23. The law authorizes $5 billion in federal funds for the program, which will cover as many as 400,000 people when it is implemented nationwide.

========================================

PRO LIFE ANALYSIS “Obama's $160 million in federal funds to PA, will pay for insurance plans that cover any legal abortion,” said Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National RtL Committee. “This is just the first proof of the phoniness of President Obama’s assurances that federal funds would not subsidize abortion — but it will not be the last.”

HERE'S WHAT TAX DOLLARS PAY FOR

Horror stories about Dr. Kermit Gosnell's Philadelphia abortion clinic are beginning to come to light after he was charged with eight counts of murder. In Philadelphia, Gosnell is accused of killing seven newborn babies with scissors and killing a 41-year-old refugee after a botched abortion in connection with his Philadelphia clinic.

One former patient of Gosnell's Phildelphia clinic claims that in 2001, she went to procure an abortion to find dazed women sitting on blood-stained recliners in the waiting room. She changed her mind, only to have the Philadelphia doctor forcibly hold her down by tying her hands and given medication against her will.

Prosecutors believe Gosnell's Philadelphia abortion clinic frequently delivered late-term babies alive. The Philadelphia abortionist then severed their spines with scissors. The fetal bodies, along with staff lunches were stored in refrigerators at the filthy Philadelphia facility. Tiny baby feet, prosecutors said, were discovered in specimen jars, lined up in a macabre collection. The horrors of termination of human life for profit were exposed Wednesday as murder charges were filed against practitioners at the Women's Medical Society abortion clinic in West Philadelphia. The grand jury's report provided descriptions too gruesome to reprint beyond the summary statement, "It was a baby charnel house."

The facility belonged to Dr. Kermit B. Gosnell, whose alleged primary goal was to maximize the number of procedures performed at the lowest possible cost. Corners were apparently cut by having nonprofessionals do the bulk of the work in unsanitary conditions.

According to Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams, same-day service was available, no matter how late the term, for mostly minority women seeking to end their pregnancies. Documents show the clinic encouraged late-term procedures because the price tag increased from $330 in the 12th week of pregnancy to $1,625 in the 24th. Beyond that, prices rose as high as $3,000, for an annual revenue of $1.8 million.

Such late-term abortions are horrendous, illegal procedures. Evidence suggests that the clinic would induce labor and then kill the newborn after birth. The clinic termed this as "ensuring fetal demise," but few would disagree that this was infanticide...

(GAG) "SAFE, LEGAL" ABORTIONS Gosnell regularly and illegally delivered live, viable babies in the third trimester of pregnancy and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors," said a report of the grand jury that investigated Gosnell and his clinic for a year.

Aided and abetted by Obama-----the most radically pro-abortion President in US history. Despite his flowery words, all of his actions serve to radically increase abortions in America......and around the world.

Once in office the Obama bloodbath commenced:

<><> He has officially approved the first instance of taxpayer funded abortions under O'Care---his enforced government-run health care program. This is the kind of abortion funding the pro-life movement warned about when Congress considered the bill.

<><> The Obama Administration will give Pennsylvania $160 million to set up a new “high-risk” insurance program under a provision of the federal health care legislation enacted in March. It has quietly approved a plan submitted by an appointee of pro-abortion Governor Edward Rendell under which the new program will cover any abortion that is legal in Pennsylvania.

<><> “Obama's $160 million in federal funds to PA, will pay for insurance plans that cover any legal abortion,” said Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National RtL Committee. “This is just the first proof of the phoniness of President Obama’s assurances that federal funds would not subsidize abortion — but it will not be the last.”

<><> One of Obama’s first legislative achievements was to include a provision, within the 2009-2010 military budget, prosecuting "pastors who preach hatred." CASE IN POINT Let’s say your pastor preaches on Romans 1st chapter which denounces homosexuality. Someone happens to walk in during the sermon. Then he/she commits a crime against someone who happens to be a homosexual. Not only is the bad guy prosecuted, but the preacher can be prosecuted as well.

<><> Obama got help from Pelosi and Reid for this verbiage.....the first time any president signed such a provision. ACTION PROJECT Ask your pastor if he is aware of this provision, and if, in fact, he would vote for someone willing to send him to jail.

<><> Empowered by Obama, the ACLU Demands NY Investigate Catholic Hospitals Refusing “Life-saving” Abortions........

<><> Obama DOJ nominee Dawn Johnsen saw a great danger to liberty in laws enacted to protect babies in the womb...... it was OK to make such laws to protect the interests of the woman carrying unborn child -- or to protect whatever interest the baby may have retroactively in its fetal existence if it is ever born alive -- but it was not OK to make such laws in the interest of the unborn child itself.

<> Obama characterizes late-term abortionist Dr. Tiller (who was murdered) as a hero and martyr. Dr. Tiller is a bloody, gruesome killer of fully-formed babies (60,000 abortions by his own admission).......who were alive when aborted, who could FEEL THE PAIN of being literally ripped from their mothers' wombs.

UPDATES

<><> A federal probe was requested by three high ranking lawmakers with congressional oversight responsibilities into whether the Obama Administration broke federal laws by promoting a proposed constitution that radically changes abortion policy in Kenya.

<> Dec 23, 2010---- Louisville, KY --- The Obama administration filed a lawsuit against a pro-life protester b/c he was given community service for a minor charge associated with efforts to help women find abortion alternatives. In Jan, David Hamilton was counseling women going into the EMW Women’s Surgical Center, the only abortion business in Louisville, Kentucky. Hamitlon was arrested for moving the arm of a clinic escort out of his way as he attempted to present alternatives information to one woman going to the entrance.” More at LifeNews.com

What Obama and Michelle Believe re: Aborted Babies Born Alive
FR POSTED http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2253212/posts?page=6

In February 2004, US Senate candidate Barack Obama's wife, Michelle, sent a fund-raising letter with the "alarming news" that "right-wing politicians" had passed a law (prohibiting doctors from stabbing half-born babies in the neck with scissors, suctioning out their brains and crushing their skulls).

Michelle Obama called partial-birth abortion "a legitimate medical procedure. " She urged supporters to pay $150 to attend a fund-raising luncheon for her husband, who she promised would fight against "cynical ploy[s]" to stop it.

BACKGROUND Legislation was presented on the federal level and in various states called the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. It stated all live-born babies were guaranteed the same constitutional right to equal protection, whether or not they were wanted. BAIPA sailed through the U.S. Senate by unanimous vote. Even Sens. Clinton, Kennedy and Kerry agreed a mother's right to "choose" stopped at her baby's delivery. The bill also passed overwhelmingly in the House. NARAL went neutral on it. Abortion enthusiasts publicly agreed that fighting BAIPA would appear extreme. President Bush signed BAIPA into law in 2002.

But in Illinois, the state version of BAIPA repeatedly failed, thanks in large part to then-state Sen. Barack Obama. Obama worried aloud that legislation protecting live aborted babies might infringe on women's rights or abortionists' rights.

In 2003, as chairman of the next Senate committee to which BAIPA was sent, Obama stopped it from even getting a hearing, shelving it to die much like babies were still being shelved to die in Illinois hospitals and abortion clinics.

BAIPA passed in 2005.........after Obama left the Illinois Senate.

Barack Obama is at least consistent on this, so look for him to issue a pardon to Gosnell.

The President has no power to pardon a state crime such as murder.

Thanks SL for the clarification.

However, the point still stands. In order to be consistent, those who opposed trying to rescue victims of unsuccessful child killing, should applaud Gosnell.
