They let her take all the slings and arrows when they were the huge minority,now that she has got the Republicans back on the road to recovery they want to drown her,and take over. They can dunk their heads in the toilet bowl three times and bring them out twice.
Those same good ol' boys threw Joe Miller over for Murkowski.
Its about removing a threat, no matter what form the threat takes.
The Government Party is terrified of American patriots.
Sarah Palin is a photogenic, media-savvy, experienced, successful Reaganesque patriot who is capable of mobilizing millions of other patriots and millions of dollars in support of American patriot goals, e.g. the removal from power of The Government Party.
She's the mongoose to The Government Party's nest of pythons.
Because in many ways, she is responsible for waking the conservative "silent majority" in America. People who otherwise weren't terribly aware of what was going on around them (especially women) relate to her.
Sarah Palin as best I can see is a nice, NORMAL lady, which I suppose is what’s “wrong” with her. She’s not a freak like most libtards. She doesn’t appear to have any skeletons in her closet, which means that she can’t be blackmailed. And she’s not one of the good ol’ boys club.
She seems smart enough to be able to nuke obama and his healthcare proposal in less than 146 characters in a twitter “tweet”.
She’s not a marxist, elitist, America hating loser of a wealthy family. And everything she and her husband have they have earned of their own hard work.
She may not be the best president ever, but what is the infatuation with being some “history making” leader? Why is just being a good steward of the ship of state, not enough anymore? Can we get someone who loves America for being America, and wants to have the USA maintain its rightful place as the leader of the free world. Can they put their own ego’s aside for the good of the nation?
Maybe that’s why they hate Palin so much is that she is not an egomaniac who just wants to do what’s right and will let the chips fall where they may.
I’m tired of taking care of the poor, everywhere in the world, at the expense of my own family at home. Let the poor suffer, like they should. Being poor is supposed to be a crappy life. That is why it is to be avoided. Let work bring the reward of prosperity. Racial minorities are ill served by the Afirmative Action hires that come in and do a piss poor job, get promoted (because they can’t be fired lest the management be accused of racism) to do even worse. The current resident of the White House is a glimmering example if how this kind of incompetence, moves up the ladder, only to fail on even grander scales and at greater expense to those they claim to serve.

You were observing what we are seeing in the media. I thought it was a false dichotomy.
In that context it is a very good observation -- no seems to be tepid nor objective when it comes to Mrs. Plain.
One big problem this country has is that there are elitists in both parties who actually think they're better than us, and look down their noses at people who (gasp!) earned degrees at non-elite universities or (horrors!) have only a high school diploma (that's 73% of Americans.)
