The Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights (GLAHR), a grassroots organization that advocates for the human rights of Immigrants, opposes the implementation of “Illegal Immigration Reform and Enforcement Act of 2011” HB 87.

Georgia has already implemented the controversial 287(g) program in several counties. 287(g) also encourages racial profiling when authorizing local police to enforce federal immigration law. Policy makers who supported the 287(g) program argued that it would enhance our security and improve the economy. First, the negative result of the program has demonstrated that actually damages the economy and does not increase safety in our communities, and in fact diminishes it Gwinnett, Cobb, Hall and Whitfield counties have implemented this program, only making it more difficult to create a form a positive relationship between police authorities and Latinos because of broken trust.

It's not like the illegals came here from acountry where the police are trusted and well received. It's almost has reached the point, the latinos want to create their own set of laws and expect the rest of us to get in line-stand in line and are slowly wanting to turn this country into the one they want.

Don’t you love obviously biased “reports”... The title makes that obvious.

There is nothing in the bill that “criminalizes immigrants”. It cracks down on ILLEGAL immigrants. BIG difference!

I’m so tired of all this. They have a lot more rights and opportunities here than where they were, otherwise they wouldn’t have left. If they’re so unhappy with how they’re treated here, I have a suggestion. Go home.

The Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights. ROTFL! Hell! I never knew we had one of those in this country. Never thought we needed one.

Speaking for Gwinnett County the relationship between the cops and the illegals is that the cops are pullling them over, arresting them, impounding their (always white) vans and handing them over to ICE just like us law abiding citizens have asked them to do. The illegals here are a blight on the community and we are finally getting rid of a lot of them. Good riddance!!!!

I moved from Gwinnett because it had become a cesspool. The illegals don’t hide, they are right in the open along with their gang neighborhoods. I lived there for 16 yrs. and watched the invasion, it boggles the mind how a place can turn to sh!t in such a short period of time.

Ditto. I have been here for 24 years. We have a bunch of illegals in a rental house next door. Its a nightmare. We are moving up to the mountains as soon as we can find a place up there and hasta la vista to Metro Atlanta.

You people really take the prize. NO ONE is talking about LEGAL IMMIGRANTS. What we are talking about are those CRIMINAL INVADERS whose very first act is to break the law coming here.

My wife’s an immigrant. She and I jumped through every hoop they have to keep her LEGAL and get her green card. So I righteously resent the illegals themselves AND idiots like YOU who enable them, then get huffy when folks get tired of your combined antics.

Tell you what, Mexico’s a hispanic country, besides being the source of MOST of our illegals. Why don’t we model our immigration laws on Mexico and treat those sneaking across OUR southern border the same way those sneaking across Mexico’s border are treated. Would THAT suit you better?

Do you lock your doors at home at night? If so, WHY? Why would you want to keep folks out of your home if you don’t want to keep them out of this country illegally?

“It’s almost has reached the point, the latinos want to create their own set of laws and expect the rest of us to get in line-stand in line and are slowly wanting to turn this country into the one they want. “

It reached that point long ago, the first time millions of them were in our streets making demands. They LOVE their homelands and seek to turn ours into the same mess.

The Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights (GLAHR), a grassroots organization that advocates for the human rights of Immigrants,

Oh no. Per U.S. Constitution, Article III, Section 3:

Section 3 - Treason Note Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Congress shall have power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

Accordingly, per United States Code Title 18, U.S. Criminal Code, Section 2381:

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.
