(As an aside, I presume its fairly well known in conservative circles that the first President Bush was a very anti-Second Amendment president, one of the primary reasons he couldn't carry his base and was defeated by President Clinton, who contrary to popular misconceptions had a lot of weaknesses as a politician but was blessed with two opponents who couldn't generate any excitement among their own base.) Hogwash.
Perot was a stalking horse for Clinton. He and The Rapist had some kind of quid pro quo worked out. Perot split the conservative vote. That was his only intention. He left the race when it looked like he might actually win. He came back in late enough to make sure he wouldn't.

I don’t know if I would call GHW Bush anti-2nd Amendment but when he publically resigned his Life Membership in the NRA and inferred that they supportive of domestic terrorists because they sided against the FBI re the Ruby Ridge debacle he lost a lot of support from gun owners. Myself for one.
