Last night, on Hardball With Chris Mathews, Mr. Mathews has a group discussion with Errol Louis of NY1 and Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post on the federal budget and President Barak Obama calling on the Republicans to work with both him and the Democrats, while at the same time, President Obama is catching grief from his fellow Dems for proposing cuts to their favorite programs.
Once again, Mr. Mathews says that when both middle and lower-incomes people get extra money in their paychecks and by extension, in their pockets, they go out and shop with that money, yet when it comes to wealthy people, they put the money away. Mr. Mathews, do not rich people also spend money too? And not just spend money, but also use money to hire new employees also? Would it surprise you Mr. Mathews that a poor person does not do either hiring or paying another person?

Taxes, Taxes, and More Taxes

Mr. Matthews evidently believes rich people stick their money under a mattress. In his pea-brain, that’s the only possible way they could have gotten rich. He has no concept of entrepreneurs who invest their life savings in a dream and then get “rich” when that dream pays off. He clings to the progressive view that the rich don’t deserve their money as they probably inherited it (any glance at the Forbes list of richest Americans reveals that those with inherited wealth are in a distinct minority).
