Is Glee About to Take On Sarah Palin and the Tea Party?

Glee executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck may be shifting their attention to an FX project called American Horror Story this April, but for now it looks like the pair will be tackling another kind of American horror story on an upcoming episode of their Fox musical series: Sarah Palin and the Tea Party. Exclusive casting details ahead.

In Friday’s casting breakdowns, Glee producers submitted a posting for two roles that need to be cast immediately. The first is for a character named Tammy Jean, a middle-aged “recent Tea Party candidate and home schooler — a Sarah Palin type.” It is unclear when the season two episode will air but it will begin shooting Tuesday.

A conservative storyline would not be a surprise for Glee fans as Ryan Murphy has previously discussed adding a right-wing character to the McKinley High mix.

“We’ve taken a couple jabs at the right wing this year,” Murphy told TV Guide last June. “So what I want to do with this character is have someone who Christian kids and parents can recognize and say, ‘Oh, look — I’m represented there, too!’ If we’re trying to form a world of inclusiveness, we’ve got to include that point of view as well.”

Gleeks will recall that Sarah Palin was directly referenced last year in one of Sue Sylvester’s best quips to date. While reprimanding Santana and Brittany, the Jane Lynch character spat, “You may be two of the stupidest teens I’ve ever encountered — and that’s saying something. I once taught a cheerleading seminar to Sarah Palin.”

In addition to Tammy Jean, Glee producers are also looking to cast Sister Mary Constance, a middle-aged African-American and exotic dancer-turned-Carmelite Nun.

Casting suggestions currently being accepted in the comment section below.

I’m certain that they’ll make the character greedy and racist.

Legitimate and peaceful dissent (unlike the lawless thuggery we're seeing out of union goons in Wisconsin) is a "horror story?" Isn't this just typical of the Stalinists on the left and how they view any opposition to Obama and his failed policies? It also shows their contempt for average American. 71% in a recent poll said they want Tea Party policy adopted. I guess "Movieline" and the Hollywood trash find the great tradition of American free speech and dissent a thing of horror. Maybe they would be happier in the horror-free environment of North Korea where they won't be bothered by free speech. These people are so unamerican.

As Rush always says, for satire to be effective there needs to be some element of truth in it. These idiots are too stupid to realize that Palin was never a cheerleader. She was a Point Guard on her HS girls basketball team and help her team win the state championship - while playing on a fractured ankle! But I'm sure the uninformed mind-numbed masses of liberal twits who enjoy that show thought it was a hoot.

The only thing I’ve heard about the show is what I’ve seen in FR thread titles. I noticed in reading her first book, that Palin seemed to “distance” herself from the cheerleaders (she was “clumsy” as a kid), while also affirming them - noting that a good friend and important colleague (and one of the smartest person she knows) was a cheerleader.

The bigger question is: what took them so long?

FOX huh? I think Sarah Palin and the TEA Party Americans could bring this happy horse**** to a screeching halt if we wanted to. I think FOX appreciates all of those #1 spots in the ratings. We could make Madcow, Special Ed and PMSNBC #1 for a week if we really wanted to.

If that’s one of her best quips...the worst must be truly stinking, steaming turds.

I watched when it first started and enjoyed it however, this year it has gotten really raunchy, focuses way too much on the gay character and sex in general. I won’t let my 14 yr old watch anymore. It’s kind of disgusting. Started out really cute and entertaining.

Rupert Murdoch is a great force for good in conservative journalism, but boy does he know how to create liberal filth. It’s sad that so many people, particularly young people, watch this gay garbage.

Once these young viewers grow up, if they ever do, they will profess to be religious and honorable but an irreovocable new normal will have been created. The trashy Glee lifestyle will be more widely accepted, and libertine ethos of shacking-up adults and the homosexual left will be even more dominant. All this thanks to the hard work of amoral, materialist secularists like Rupert Murdoch and his mind-numbed legions.

I don’t care what they do. The only idiots that would watch it is their own choir.

I have never watched it and don’t intend to ever watch it.

The more I read about this show, the more I’m glad I’ve never watched it, and am sure I never will.

Never watched the show. It seemed geared to women and gays. Since I am not any one of those,I refuse to view this drivel.
