Americans who, in 2008, voted for abstract, fill-in-the-blanks concepts of "hope" and "change" might have dug a little deeper into the philosophy upon which those concepts were based. They might have explored the associations and the voting record of the one who promised, instead of substituting their own hopes and dreams for his illusory promises.

The ideas of Mao, Marx, and Lenin, implemented with the strategies of Alinsky, cannot be expected to yield liberty, opportunity, and plenty. On the other hand, a pledge of return to the principles of liberty expressed in America's Declaration of Independence, the 1787 Constitution, and the 200-year history of American freedom, accompanied by a record of study of those ideas and a voting record which supported the promise, would have been a better foundation for measuring a leader worthy of the role.

"I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple, applying all the possible savings of the public revenue to the discharge of the national debt; and not for a multiplication of officers and salaries merely to make partisans, and for increasing by every device the public debt on the principle of its being a public blessing." --Thomas Jefferson to Elbridge Gerry, 1799. ME 10:77

It seems like government salaries and benefits could simply be tied to some essential economic indicator or relative to private sector income.

Haven’t you seen the signs in Wisconin, “Tax the Rich” and “Class War is Here” really stood out to me. Greedy mooching bastards. What a bunch of useful idiots. Liberalism has destroyed this country.

“Wow! Insurrection? Looks to me like the libs want all-out civil war.” —————

Their behavior is a gift to conservatives! They are losing in the court of public opinion, single handedly destroying Obama’s chances for re-election, proving to be everything the conservatives said they were and imploding from within the union.

When your opposition is busy setting themselves on fire, we must NOT interfere. What a gift!

The Wall Street Journal reports that the AWOL Democrats plan to remain out of the state until the governor caves in to their demands:

I was wrong, I admit.

I've always thought that all Democrats -- and all who vote for them -- were intellectually adolescent.

Now I see that they're actually infantile.

...O.K. with me.....lets get it on.

..the fact is that the only way some situations can get resolved is extreme force.

If we are to be a nanny, socialist, big govt, perpetually broke, tyranny country, lets find out by fighting it out......the sooner the better.

Here is an "oldie but goody"...not out an out CWII, but a more peaceful solution:

It's Time to Part Company

Hurrah for the Republic of Texas....

Such a nice phrase in the article “former Senator Russ Feingold”.

I'm good with this idea. It's going to happen sooner or later.

I'd rather it happen while I'm still young enough to do my part to restore our Republic. I'd hate to think I'd left a mess like this for my kids to clean up.

I'll tell you this, for however amount of time our US citizen children are not influenced by 'government teachers', it is a damned blessing. Equally, it is a blessing that these government leeches are away from their jobs of trying to rob us of our hard-earned wealth is also a good thing.

Somebody tell me the downside in this? I hope the hell they never come back, regardless of whether they still get paid. They can't corrupt our childrens' minds of take more of our money if they're out in the streets protesting....hell, maybe the police will bust a few damned heads!

Keep pounding this point home: They’re having a hissy fit because they’re being asked to pay a portion that’s far smaller than most people pay for their taxpayer supplied medical insurance.
