An Ohio policeman is recovering from an attack and injuries inflicted by a motorist and his brother. The attack was captured on the police cars dash camera. Sgt. Jason Davis and an officer in another unit were responding to an unsafe driving call for the motorists truck. Davis turned on his overheads and his video camera and the driver pulled into a speedway station. The other officer went on to answer another call. The motorists brother also pulled into the gas station.
Based on his observations of the driver, Davis tried to administer a roadside sobriety test and the driver refused. The officer called for a back-up, but the call did not go through. The mans brother, who arrived, initially tried to calm the man being questioned. The officer concentrated on the argumentative driver. The officer believed he was in danger by the mans actions and he used his stun gun on him. The brother grabbed the officer from the back around the neck and threw him to the ground. Both brothers hit and stomped the policeman until two good Samaritans arrived and stopped the attack.
Both men are charged with felonious assault and have a $100,000 bond. See the video...

Cop deserved it. He probably just shot some pet dog.
(Dang knee! Always jerking!)
Sorry. disregard comment.
No sympathy for the cop whatsoever. Too many of them are trigger-happy dog-killers.
If the brother thought the officer was going to kill his brother for no reason ... didn't he have a good reason to intervene?
Are we obliged to stand by and let our relatives be murdered in front of us ... just because it's a police officer doing the murdering?
I know it was a stun gun, but maybe the brother didn't know that and assumed the guy was about to shoot his brother...
Man I am torn on this.
Maybe you'd like a drunk driver to come across someone in your family on the highway one night?
The drunk’s brother at first offered to help the officer. He would have probably done better to accept this assistance.
Hmmm, I don’t feel sorry for either the cop or the drunk.
no matter your view we can all agree:
the cops training was appalling and he is lucky he didnt get killed. getting that close to the perp and letting the brother get behind him. all for a traffic stop. rookie?
He hits my H2 and he’ll lose. Little tin-cans don’t hold up well to running into über-large SUVs built on military platforms.
Look, even cops will tell you they seldom prevent crime, (even DUI), they just show up to draw the chalk outline and take the report.
And I wouldn’t have made my comment if it weren’t for the epidemic of cops getting away with shooting family pets for completely unjustifiable and unacceptable reasons.
“the cops training was appalling and he is lucky he didnt get killed. getting that close to the perp and letting the brother get behind him. all for a traffic stop. rookie?”
Double Ditto!
At the time of the fight it was not determined that the person pulled over was drunk ,, he was merely not being subservient to the cop ,, the cop used a “LESS THAN LETHAL” weapon on him ... tasers KILL pretty regularly and if I was tasered for simply being a bit loud I’d attack the S.O.B. too ,,, The cop deserved a beat down.
Bootlicker!
Totally stupid and flat out wrong.
Try decaf, you keyboard warrior.
Epidemic? Why? Because you've read a couple articles around here? Lemme guess. You're a dog lover. That's the trouble when you let emotion get the better of you. Reason goes out the window and you start using words like 'epidemic' and you have zero proof of what you are saying.
if its ok to arrest/fine/imprison people for what **might** happen due to an increased risk related to some behavior...
then why don’t we lock up women that dress provocatively? this would lead to a direct reduction in rapes
or maybe we should just lock up anyone that is male... since 80+% of all violent is committed by men.
or arrest/fine/imprison anyone on a cell phone... since their behavior is increasing the risk of an accident
or arrest/fine/imprison anyone yelling at kids in their car while driving... since their behavior is increasing the risk of an accident
or arrest/fine/imprison anyone that is sleepy while driving... since their behavior is increasing the risk of an accident
hell.. maybe we should just arrest/fine/imprison anyone that operates a vehicle... after all, without them being in the vehicle, 50,000+ people a year wouldn’t be killed.
whether you’re drunk, asleep, wired on coffee, yelling at kids or on a cell phone... the fact that you plowed into a house, a bus load of nuns, or a flock of seagulls is the crime/accident that must be dealt with. not the situation leading up to it.
Facts are stubborn things. Go back to your donuts.
Actually, if I were one of the nuns or the flock of seagulls, I’d wish the cops had seen the signs of somebody out of control and stopped him first. But maybe that’s just me.
Maybe the cop-haters here would rather get killed by a drunk driver. Or even just one who was sleepy and whose car was wandering all over the road. Hey, it’s all good as long as you get to hate cops, right?
O...k...
Depends on what you mean by "Pretty regularly". Tasers DO occasionally result in the death of the tased person (example here) since they can trigger seizures, heart attacks, etc.
I’m going to pull an Obama and say that I haven’t seen the video but the cop was probably asking for it.
A couple? There have been HUNDREDS of such cases in the last year.
