People Are Starting To Notice

Recent poll data suggest that Americans have woken up to the fact that Barack Obama is an empty suit, and the Democrats have nothing to offer in terms of policy solutions. First, President Obama.

Today's Rasmussen Reports finds that among likely voters, President Obama has matched his lowest standing ever. He now ranks at -22 on the Approval Index, defined as the difference between those who strongly approve and strongly disapprove of his performance:

[Graph]

Rasmussen also finds that the voters' preference for Republicans over Democrats is growing, as the current generic Congressional preference survey has Republicans ahead by 46-37. Oh, and 62 percent favor repeal of Obamacare, nearly the highest percentage yet recorded.

Other pollsters are finding evidence of growing pessimism among Americans. Remarkably, the ABC News/Washington Post poll finds that Americans are less confident in "our system of government and how well it works" than at any time since the question was first asked in 1974. Worse, in other words, than in the aftermath of Watergate and than at any time during the Carter administration. And, for good measure, 71 percent "report financial hardship as a result of rising gas prices." Shades of the 1970s, only worse; and we have, effectively, no president.

In polls, people tend to cast blame indiscriminately, but when they actually vote, matters are often clarified. Thus, several readers pointed out the result of an election in Dade County, where an overwhelming 88 percent voted to recall Mayor Carlos Alvarez because he raised taxes in order to fund a 3 percent increase in wages for public employees. Alvarez reportedly is the first public official to be recalled since Gray Davis, but one suspects there are more to come, and soon. Let's hope this sends a message to politicians in Wisconsin.

As others have pointed out, at this point being the second-coming of Jimmy Carter would be a best-case scenario.

“Recent poll data suggest that Americans have woken up to the fact that Barack Obama is an empty suit

It is sad people are so stupid and slow.”

But sadly, they’ll vote for him anyway!

we have, effectively, no president.

That has be blatantly apparent for a longtime. He plays, makes speeches. Tells us all in so many words how wonderful he is, and how stupid and dimwitted we are. And then let's the socialist dems have at it and do whatever they will, then he puts his stamp of approval on it and goes golfing or one of his many vacations.

Well thank God for small miracles. It’s about time. To many people in this country vote with their wallets instead of their brains or any moral convictions. Whoever hands out the most candy wins. Stupid!!!

That’s why I’m looking for a Reagan in 2012. If we don’t have someone that strong, with those kind of convictions, this country will be in a serious world of hurt.

I’d say the hopelessly stupid makes up about 40% of the population. The so called swing voters, or as I call them, any way the wind blows. The only barometer they use is their wallet. No convictions, no backbone, no brains, just whoever promises them the most candy wins.

This stain on the office of the President of the US still retains a "Total Approval" rating of about 44%.

This stat must drop...and stay...below 38%; preferrably 35% or lower.

44% is still way too high....most of this stain's "voting block" remains fast asleep.

Like it or not, most of the top tier and most of the 2nd tier of Republican wannabes are not Reaganesque nor could they win even against a weakened Obama.

UE numbers will drop next year -- BLS knows how to manipulate date to accomplish lower numbers.

Inflation numbers will appear low -- don't believe your lying eyes when you go to the grocery store. The FED knows how to manipulate those numbers, too.

The GOP still has a major uphill battle, and most of the ones they have on their preferred list just don't have the armour for the battle.

[I wonder whether the GOP has already conceded 2012 in hopes of having a better run in to 2016. Boehner and the House Republicans are already in trouble because they have not fulfilled their promise to cut $100 Billion. Voters will remember that promise. So far, it has been just more of the same in Congress.]

Fast asleep and collecting government checks.

I can’t see the number ever dropping below 40%. To much dependency. And too much “evil Republican” demagoguery by the ‘Rats.

I was having business drinks last night with six people, three of which were avid supporters of 0. They have taken a hard and harsh turn on his lazy a$$. Openly criticizing him and calling him an “empty suit”. Warmed my heart.

Shoot, if they had done even superficial research on Zer0 in 2008, they would have figured that out back then.

I haven’t heard anything about him running! But, he would absolutely be my choice. We need a commander in chief that actually knows what he’s talking about.

I think he would rip our usurper to shreds without even trying! It would be delightful!
