There is a disturbing and glaring lack of a certain word from the people protesting and the 'rebels' actively fighting for change in these uprisings: democracy.
You don't hear the revolutionaries demanding democracy. Unorganized as most of the opposition supporters are, one of the more stable groups involved is the Muslim Brotherhood which would like nothing more than to see these countries turn into staunch Islamic states complete with Sharia law.
As has been noted, protesters are not chanting 'one person, one vote!', they are more often overheard praising Allah and yelling passages from the Q'aran.

(And I don’t mean Uma Pemmaraju)
Well, I certainly am confused about Obama getting us involved in Libya. The rebels there are allies of Al Qaeda, along with other assorted Muslim groups. As noted, they are not demonstrating for parliamentary democracy.
On the one hand, we’re part of a humanitarian mission in Libya to save civilians. On the other hand, Obama has stated that American policy is that Qadafi should leave. Will our mission fail if we enforce the no-fly zone, force a cease fire, but Qadafi stays in power?
Then again, if the rebels overthrow Qadafi, what sort of country will Libya be? Will it be a fundamentalist Muslim state, similar to what Afghanistan was under the Taliban? Does Obama even know what sort of quagmire we may be getting into here?
And then what about the other protests going on in the middle east? Should we intervene in any of those places, based on the Libyan precedent?
What is Obama’s exit strategy?
Why did Obama leave the country as the Libyan operation got underway?
Is Obama going to have a press conference when he gets back from Latin America?
Is Congress going to debate our involvement there?
What is the end game? Read Revelation. :)
