Obama’s Next National Disaster – Jamie Gorelick As FBI Director?
AIPNews.com ^ | March 24, 2011 | John L. Work

Posted on 03/24/2011 10:21:58 AM PDT by EternalVigilance

If you think that Barack Hussein Obama has done as much as he can possibly do toward the demolition of our Republic, you had better think again.  I know it’s getting harder and harder to read the news reports.  He just keeps piling the destruction onto us to the point where it’s unbearable.  But, here’s the latest:

Jamie Gorelick, who is now infamous within right-leaning circles (the same Jamie Gorelick who pocketed tens of millions of dollars during the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac collapses that put us directly into the financial disaster we are now suffering – the same Jamie Gorelick who in 1995 authored a memo that Attorney General John Ashcroft later testified under oath was a directly contributing factor to the success of the 9/11 attacks of 2001) – is on Barack Obama’s “short list” to be named Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

With thanks to Michael Savage, here are some excerpts from the CNS report by Chris Neefus:

“(CNSNews.com)  – Jamie Gorelick, a former Clinton administration official who reportedly has made the Obama administration’s short list to become the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), was paid more than $26 million in total compensation as a top executive at Fannie Mae–before taxpayers had to bail out the mortgage giant…”

That’s not the worst of it.  Read on.

“…In a 1995 Justice Department memo, written when she was deputy attorney general, Kagan prescribed a policy for limiting the flow of information between intelligence gatherers and criminal investigators within the Justice Department…”

“…Rules stemming from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), under which the intelligence community was operating as part of its investigation, stipulates that information may only be gathered by way of surveillance for the primary purpose of intelligence, not to contribute to a criminal case under which defendants have more constitutional protections…”

“…“These procedures, which go beyond what is legally required, will prevent any risk of creating an unwarranted appearance that FISA is being used to avoid procedural safeguards which would apply in a criminal investigation,” Gorelick wrote…”

Here’s the crux of the matter.  Gorelick’s memo had the net effect of prohibiting law enforcement agencies, such as the FBI, from gathering or accepting any criminal investigative information from federal intelligence-gathering agencies, which would be firstly concerned with safe-guarding national security interests.  From the wording of the memo, Gorelick was apparently more concerned with ensuring that the Constitutional protections of the 4th Amendment be extended to foreign nationals who might be planning acts of war against the United States than she was with preventing terrorist attacks on our soil.  But, let’s go on again:

“…Bush Attorney General John Ashcroft later testified before the 9/11 Commission that Gorelick’s “wall” was a “structural cause” in the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 being allowed to occur.

In his prepared testimony, he said, “In 1995 the Justice Department, imposing a series of restrictions on the FBI that went beyond what the law required. … The single greatest structural cause for September 11 was the wall that segregated criminal investigators and intelligence agents. Government erected this wall. Government buttressed this wall. And before September 11, government was blinded by this wall.”…”

Of course, Gorelick later denied that her restrictive memo was a factor in allowing the 9/11 attacks.  Socio-pathic (that is to say, without a conscience) lawyers from either side of the political spectrum are always masters of pointing their fingers at each other.  But this was unquestionably a policy blunder of historical proportions, written by the hand of Ms. Gorelick.

The salient point here is:  After all of the controversy in which Jamie Gorelick has been embroiled, why is this woman even being considered for the position of FBI Director?  What does Barack Hussein Obama have up his sleeve now?

 Read all of it.

From SLATE, 9-16-08:

... Jamie S. Gorelick, whose official résumé describes her as “one of the longest serving Deputy Attorneys General of the United States,” a position she held during the Clinton administration. Although Gorelick had no background in finance, she joined Fannie Mae in 1997 as vice chair and departed in 2003. For her trouble, Gorelick collected a staggering $26.4 million in total compensation, including bonuses. Federal investigators (PDF) would later say that “Fannie Mae's management directed employees to manipulate accounting and earnings to trigger maximum bonuses for senior executives from 1998 to 2003.” The New York Times would call the manipulations an “$11 billion accounting scandal.” Gorelick, it should be noted, has never been charged with any wrongdoing. . .

Mrs. Cass Sunstein is Samantha Power, one of the three women who goaded Obama into going to war with Libya, (Hillary and Susan Rice being the other two.)

I have a hard time believing that Barry would want to stomach her confirmation hearings

Let her get nominated. Put in Sandy Berger as her assistant.

Her appointment brings us one step closer to the giant reset button, when we can all start over. Let’s get with it already.

There are various ways a nominee can be delayed or outright rejected by the Senate.
One is, of course, insufficient votes for confirmation.
Another is a ‘hold’ being put on a nominee bat a Senator for whatever reason they wish............

It IS impossible to believe that ONE unelected person can have so much power for so long, and be involved in EVERY scandalous government event, and still potentially be put in an even more destructive position.

If I was one of those who see a conspiracy behind every rock, this would seal the deal for me.

She must be providing conjugal services to George Soros.

I consider Gorelick to be the female responsible for more damage to the US than any female in history. The very idea of appointing her to director of the FBI is well beyond “1984”, it’s beyond human conception its affront to any level of sensibility.

There's a filibuster-size number of Republicans in the Senate. I certainly hope they use it if she's nominated.

I do wonder, however, if the Dems are using a strategy I've always wanted our side to use - nominate someone entirely unacceptable first so the other side spends a ton of money trying to defeat that person then nominate the one you *really* want to have the job, who will appear "reasonable" after the first rejected nominee and will sail right through.

I’m quite serious. Many of the Democrats in the Senate will never support her, nor would they support a recess appointment to the FBI.

Hussein has enough problems with his own side without pouring more gasoline on the Dhimmies.

We shall see.

Between her substantive responsibility for 9/11 creating The Wall at DOJ and as one of the main participants presiding over the mortgage meltdown at Fannie Mae, this human waste product carries so much baggage she could be a skycap.

It may well be that Jamie Gorelick was the primary reason the terrorists got through - one person - Gorelick and her infamous “wall.”

No -- Clinton. Jamie Gorelick was protecting Bill Clinton.

Her job was to make sure that LE didn't get any information the intelligence services might pick up about his sale of his office to the Chinese, and the fact that he had people like John Huang, Wang Jun, Johnnie Chung, and James Riady running in and out of his office -- all of them with threads that led back to the Chinese PLA intelligence service, the BuDer.

Considering his longtime "friendship" with Yah Lin "Charlie" Trie (who suddenly crossed the Pacific Ocean to open a Chinese restaurant in Little Rock soon after Bill Clinton arrived there himself, and who just as suddenly disappeared when "Chinagate" got hot -- into China), I'd say it's 60% probable that Bill Clinton has been a lifelong asset of PLA intelligence, ever since his trip to Moscow, or even before that, when he was interning for (highly probable traitor) Sen. Bill Fulbright of Arkansas.
