So you don’t believe that cutting the growth and size of the fastest growing part of that budget deficit, at the maximum politically possible pace, is a sensible place to start. Instead you favor sticking to some abstract orthodoxy that you yourself cannot even enunciate, and hope that nothing happens so that you can continue to wallow in the miserablism that suits you so well. I think I understand your position now, thanks.
I am quite happy in my personal life. I am not miserable. I just happen to believe what Ryan is proposing is a waste of time. You feel otherwise, and that is fine.
Good luck, babble-on... You’re arguing with a “friendly” conservative who can’t understand or appreciate the reality that a Paul Ryan faces in bravely trying to take on the Leviathan. I wish we could all have the luxury of being purists. Unfortunately, in our divided government and divided electorate, we don’t get many opportunities.
While I know Ryan’s plan will take more than a decade to make the kind of progress we would like, getting the plan and then the foundation established is requirement #1. I like having an honest broker like Ryan leading the charge for the GOP.
