But here is how she could have handled it. She could simply say it has nothing to do with obama and take the high ground and demand that congress and the states tighten up eligibility validation for all presidential candidates going forward. These candidates are going to accept matching money (my money) when they may not even be eligible? I thnk I have “standing” for a complaint. And then she could launch into how we also need to tighten up our borders. Etc
If a shmuck like me can think of an easy low risk path for her while still being true to the constitution than why can’t she?
She is great asset to the Party, and it pains me to say this, but Bachmann’s not ready for prime time yet. This was an inexcusable blunder. She also flip-flopped on the 2011 budget bill.

Nice take, but I have wondered why candidates don’t pivot (I know) on the question and go into all the other documents he has refused to release.
To be honest, I liked her until I saw her speak. She comes across well in print, but that’s all.
What we don’t want is to see any of our guys ( or gals ) to just meekly comply with the media elitists.
It’s that simple. I want a candidate that gets in the media’s face. I want to see them defend themselves. I want our candidates to show how ignorant their interrogators are, and how biased and wedded they are to the progressive movement.
Bachmann could have challenged Stephanopolous by telling Steffie to take his COLB down to the Motor Vehicle Bureau and see if he can get a driver’s license with it.

Exactly. I’m beyond frustration on how politically inept our side is and that extends to pain and bachmann. They are great conversatives and are willing to fight which is more than we can say for all the other RINOs. But they don’t seem to have good political instincts to take advantage of these soft balls. Dems are real good at that. You give them an opening and they hit them out of the park.
Bachman needs to get rid of rove. He did well in playing it safe with governor bush but this a different campaign with different players and much different issues.

People say stuff like that on the Internet a lot. To the best of my knowledge a sealed and certified certification of live birth will get you a driver's license. You may also have to present a passport or social security card or a bill with your name and address on it, but you won't have to bring in a xerox of the file copy of your birth certificate or the original long form birth certificate if you have a COLB.
So why do people go on saying that there's a certification of live birth "won't get you a driver's license" or "isn't worth the paper it's printed on"? Possibly Obama doesn't have a valid COLB or what's purported to be his COLB is a forgery, but where's the evidence that a COLB is somehow not valid identification at the DMV?
