Really, why is he upset given the fact that he - and key officials in his administration (including the Secretary of Energy) - have long desired high prices on energy? But why accept blame when it can be diverted to straw men, a la his screeds against fat cats on Wall Street?
A sampling of his and their opinions:
"Under my plan of cap and trade plan makes electricity rates will necessarily skyrocket"'; "coal powered plants, natural gas, you name it..whatever the plants were...they will have to retrofit their operations..that will cost money and they will have to pass those costs onto consumers
So, if somebody wants to build a coal plant, they can - it's just that it will bankrupt them, because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted
Your Interior Secretary, who has done your bidding and placed one roadblock after another in the way of developing our own massive energy resources, stated in 2008 that he was opposed to opening up off-shore areas to new oil and gas drilling even if the price per gallon of gasoline hit $10 per gallon.

Also, President Obama, your Secretary of Energy (who, like Salazar, has been busy trying to turn off the spigot to our own oil and gas supplies), called for gasoline to cost $8 per gallon- to push it up to European levels and that we needed to figure out ways to make that happen.
Obama is seeking to shift the blame and hence, redirect the American people's anger at high gas prices to his favorite fall guys: oil companies:
President Obama on Thursday said the Justice Department will launch a new effort to probe oil markets for abuses that might be driving up gasoline prices.
The initiative comes as rising pump prices have shot up the political agenda, prompting daily GOP attacks on Obama's energy policies, which Republicans say have stymied domestic production.
Obama, in a speech in Reno, Nev., said the new effort stems from last month's request that Attorney General Eric Holder probe any potential price gouging.
"Today, I'm going to go a step further. The attorney general's putting together a team whose job it will be to root out any cases of fraud or manipulation in the oil markets that might affect gas prices - and that includes the role of traders and speculators," Obama said.
"We are going to make sure that nobody is taking advantage of American consumers for their own short-term gain," Obama said.
By definition, "traders and speculators" are in it for short term gain. That's their modus operandi. They are not "taking advantage of the American consumer" so much as they are operating within a volatile market and taking advantage of market conditions.
But since the entire administration has an economics IQ of below 65, what is actually normal market activity becomes evil and bad - and politically advantageous when the president can blame someone else for his own rotten energy policies.
We need an Anti-Dog-Eat-Dog rule.
Start by investigating the “necessarily skyrocketing” energy prices.
How long until 0bama and the Communists he has working for him come out and inform America that “Free Market Capitalism” is now to be seen as a criminal enterprise?
Mr 0 doesn’t like what the Free Market does so he just makes it all an illegal activity and gets to go back to living in his escape from reality known as 0bamaland.
Rep. Allen West is correct, this is what we get when the people elect a community agitator to the office of the presidency.
The price of energy is not up due to Obummer, but due to greedy speculators....yet BO's master is happy and richer, and preys upon the woes of conflict as he pursue Mammon and speculates on currency fluctuations.
...and is he going to use the same people who have been focused like lasers on job creation?
Dec. 31, 2008—Crude oil prices plummet below $37 a barrel while the U.S. average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline falls to an amazing 5-year low of $1.61.
So the question to investigate is, why did oil and gas prices skyrocket as soon as Obama took office?
Answer? Obama told the markets that his policies would most likely cause the price of energy to “skyrocket.”

That would be the same oil markets that were punished by moratoriums backed by the pres__ent and the Justice Dept.
LOL! My god, I remember that like it was yesterday, waiting on line for 2 hours all for freakin’ gas. Effin’ Carter, what a SOB. “Oil is running out! It will all be gone in 10 years! Turn down your thermostats!” Yeah, well here we are over 30 years later assclown, and we still got it. Can you believe my mother to this day still turns down the thermostat because of that jerk? I go over her house in the winter and it’s freezing. “MOM! The oil shortage is OVER! OK? CARTER IS NOT PRESIDENT ANYMORE!” lol! Now we got this doosh clown who’s probably going to do the same thing.
Since we all know that these two aren’t smart enough to know the following, let us connect the dots:
a) The high cost of anything is usually caused by a shortage
b) A shortage of gasoline is caused by lack of drilling and/or refining.
c) Lack of drilling and/or refining in this case is caused almost entirely by the current POTUS ... see how easy that was, Eric.
The report that it all the fault of the evil big oil companies has already been written. The law confiscating all windfall profits from those companies has already been written (think Obamacare, Frank-Dodd, Sarbanes-Oxley). The plan is to have Senate attack dog Chuck-U Shumer introduce the law, have a strictly party line vote, maybe bipartisan if 1 or more RINOs join in and then use the MSM to paint the Repuklicans as in the pocket of bill oil before sending it to the House to have it defeated in a party line vote followed by the DemocRATS trotting out Reed, Shumer, Pelosi, Voter to say “We told you so” and Cummings, Jackson-Lee, and Waters there to claim the vote proves racism, Slaughter to claim it forces children to die and old people to eat more pet food and so on and so on. And the independents (formerly known as the spineless Moderates) will agree after 2 or 3 staged interviews of those most affected.

Isn’t Allen West great! They can’t call him racist so he can call it like he sees it and fortunately that’s exactly what he’s doing.
Trump, being Trump, is can do the same although he’s taking flak from all sides, but at least between Trump and West they’re calling zero what he is. I hope that smarmy Plouff, Poof, whatever his name is, is laying awake at night with acid indigestion.
Translation: Obama ordered Holder to get his campaign manager a list of rich, white Republicans they can blame this on, at the taxpayer’s expenses.
