Feds Take Down Amish Farmer... Over Milk
Pundit Press ^ | 4/29/11 | Aurelius

Our government at work.

A year-long sting operation came to an end this week. In that time, the government used fake names and surprise inspections all to nab the people at Rainbow Acres Farm in the D.C. area. The reason: they were selling milk.

Unpasteurized milk, to be exact. Asked for comment, the government released this statement: “It is the FDA’s position that raw milk should never be consumed.” Therefore, the Amish farmers at Rainbow Acres had to be brought down.

Asked for comment, one Washington resident stated, “I look at this as the FDA is in cahoots with the large milk producers. I don’t want the FDA and my tax dollars to go to shut down a farm that hasn’t had any complaints against it. They’re producing good food, and the consumers are extremely happy with it."

Is this the government over-reaching? I guess you can decide.

Did the FDA go in SWAT style to do the take down?

When are those evil Amish going to learn that the District of Criminals isn’t going to put up with that?

A basic product available throughout Europe—but too dangerous for Americans.

1.It’s going to happen anyway whether you like it or not.
2.It’s for the children
3.The gods in D.C. have spoken.
4.Shut up and watch the royal wedding like a good little peon.

Would the FDA also say that tobacco shouldn't be consumed? Or would it be because they weren't getting their cut? i.e. TAXES?

We are living under a MARXIST rule and nobody gives a sh!t. PATHETIC!

You know, since our federal government - the FDA and whatever police agency was involved - obviously has so much free time that it has to conduct year-long sting operations on farmers selling a product that people drank without incident for literally thousands of years, it’s obviously time to start axing federal employees by the thousands.

Raw milk should never be consumed? I lived on farms and drank a lot of raw milk. Never harmed me. Nothing like the taste of whole milk. The FDA does not believe that we have the fundamental right to food choices. They have to make the choices for us.

First the came for the smokers, but I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a smoker.
Then they came for the milk drinkers.......

The EPA is following the life-cycle of any bureaucracy. They have gone well beyond their intended function to the point where they are coercing their ideology on the nation, often extra-legally.

Human gene milk will shortly be available from local daries. I daare say the Amish and whole milk people will get on that bandwagon. Will the FDA now require human milk be pasteurized?
I am much more concerned about the easy availability of uncooked fish, especially shellfish. These are proven toxic especially when served as sushi. FDA should get right on that.

Yet another victimless crime.

We were warned time and again this would happen.

You can thank all those Senators who voted for the Public Safety Act (including our illustrious Gang of Six RINO Saxby Chambliss from GA). Now the FDA is a fully armed enforcement agency and they may search and seize your farm and/or backyard garden with absolutely no right of judicial review by the injured party. Thats right folks, you can’t go to court and sue. You are screwed, blued and tatooed. Welcome to the USSA.

We drink raw milk and are extremely grateful to have a farmer willing to provide it for us. Pasteurized milk can't even begin to compare with the real stuff.

Our uncle had a dairy when we were growing up. He gave all the relatives milk. Over half of my cousins tested positive for TB—linked back directly to the cow herd. We were dairy farmers also, but faithfully pasteurized our milk. We were fine. Wonder if the Amish test their herds for TB? Probably not. Just a heads up for drinking unpasteurized, untested milk.

I grew up on it, from about ages 5 to 17, from the farm a mile down the street, and I ain’t dead- yet.
