Americans tonight are united in celebration and gratitude. God bless all the brave men and women in our military and our intelligence services who contributed to carrying out the successful mission to bring Bin Laden to justice and who laid the groundwork over the years to make this victory possible. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of these brave Americans who relentlessly hunted down our enemy.
This is a victory for the American people, for the victims who were heartlessly murdered on September 11 and in Al Qaeda’s other numerous attacks, and for all the peace-loving people of the world.
May God bless our troops and our intelligence services, and God bless America!

i listened to al jazeera interview some of the kids last night and it seems they believe this means the war on terror is over now the troops will come home and the patriot act will die etc.....lol theyre gonna be sorely dissappointed

Obama’s speech last night made me so angry. The symbolism . there wasn’t even a flag in the backgroud. Obama didn’t deliver it from the Oval office nor under the seal of the POTUS. I hate liberals.

Didn’t Obama state that the body would be handled according to Muslim customs. Thus the burial within 24 hours of death.

You are sadly mistaken if you really think young people don’t hate Osama & weren’t deeply affected by 9-11. This is good news for them too...........yes, that may seem a contradiction but it is what it is.......
She should have given a nod to the CIC. He’s a POS and a fraud but he gave the order. She would have looked magnanimous if she had. It never hurts to take the high moral ground by being gracious.
I am not seeing crowds out all over the country either. Odd
I really am not sure about this whole thing. If we had photos and the body was viewed for a period of time, I might not be as skeptical. But to get rid of the body this quick is not a good idea.
I also notice that when Saddam and his sons were caught or killed, Bush did not make the announcement, the military did on national TV.
Obama is a liar and obfuscator, anyone who believes him is being duped. He will pull out all the stops to win so that he can continue to destroy the United States. Bin Laden isn't worth the continued ruination of the country.
If Obama would cut out the obvious political enhancement of himself, I may be more open to believing something that comes from his mouth.
Did you see the video of subway passengers singing the Anthem when they heard the news? The cheers at a baseball game? Maybe a few were astroturf but I doubt it. The country was in a jubilant mood. Heck, I wanted to take to the streets last night. LOL!
I understand your being skeptical, I usually am, but right now I’m taking this at face value.
I can understand the initial excitement. Those people had yet to see any proof or details.
I don’t know it is true or not true, but I am one of those people that likes proof. Fake internet photos from 2010 doesn’t cut it.
Words coming out of the mouths of the government bother me, especially because the O admin is very deceptive.
I wonder what is happening as we speak that we are not hearing about? Probably a bigger deal than this. What liberty are we going to lose this week we won’t hear about until down the road?
Patience is a noble virtue, my friend. A full account will be written and published, without, I hope, naming the special forces personnel that accomplished the raid, which would make them targets of terrorists.
A burial on land would have entailed competition among Muslim nations for the honor, plus massive crowds of wailing Muslims shouting their hatred for America, which may yet come but without a corpus as an “altar” around which to gather and riot.
We’ll see in due time, I guess. I agree that we are probably losing another freedom even as we write these words. I’d rather you be skeptic than blind like most people in my circle of friends & co-workers but so far there’s no credible evidence this is fake. I mean, the picture of the fake picture could be a fake as far as I know! ;-)
