It will be interesting to see how this plays out, via AP:
Officials say CIA interrogators in secret overseas prisons developed the first strands of information that ultimately led to the killing of Osama bin Laden.
Current and former U.S. officials say that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, provided the nom de guerre of one of bin Ladens most trusted aides. The CIA got similar information from Mohammeds successor, Abu Faraj al-Libi. Both were subjected to harsh interrogation tactics inside CIA prisons in Poland and Romania.
The ironies of this story are growing deeper and deeper by the hour.
Obama and his supporters, who opposed the secret intelligence operations and interrogations as illegal, now are reaping the political benefits of those operations and interrogations.

Orwell already did --
Some animals are more equal than others.
Bush’s fault. Obama inherited this intel from the previous administration.
Isn’t this where about 4 years ago some ?WaPo writer went after rendition? I can’t remember her name, but remember Rush spending time on it.
Were we getting so much flak because we were getting OBL info then?
M. Thatcher, do you remember that rendition dust-up?

Mohammed did not reveal the names while being subjected to the simulated drowning technique known as waterboarding, former officials said. He identified them many months later under standard interrogation, they said, leaving it once again up for debate as to whether the harsh technique was a valuable tool or an unnecessarily violent tactic.
I’ve been using my new phrase on every smug liberal I encounter, with gratifying results:
“Thank God for waterboarding!”
They hate it, but they don’t know what to say.
LOL
By people who are ignorant of the facts. Rumsfeld pointed this out yesterday, although somewhat obliquely. Waterboarding is to break the subject. Once he's broken, information is then gleaned using standard interrogation methods. Waterboarding actually gave the terrorists an excuse for caving. There was no way one could hold out indefinitely so they were absolved of guilt for cracking. IIRC, KSM said we should waterboard all captured Al Qaida so they wouldn't have to feel guilt.
