"As opposed to Reagan, who wasn’t?? Please."

Sure, Reagan was an actor. Of course, he didn't work as an actor for roughly 15-years before he became president. And, what did he do in those intervening 15-years? Well (as he would say), he only ran the most populated state in the union, a state that at the time was the 4th largest economy on the planet.

Palin, OTOH, ran a state that would be California's 5th most populous city. Reagan to Palin is apples to oranges. There is no comparison, whatsoever. One had gravitas by the truckload, one doesn't have it by the thimble.

Have bumped Sarah up from my “NEVER GOING TO RUN ACTUALLY” category to “FOREVER THINKING ABOUT IT” category, to now “FLIRT, FLIRT, FLIRT” category. If the visit to Israel and the Star of David necklace pays off for her among the religious and in the Jewish cash category, that’s a bump, and if the recent purchase of a consultant for matters of Foreign Policy and her recent FP speech attracts anyone outside of that audience, that would be a bump.

But if she can’t get her negatives down beyond her somewhat shrinking Republican base it’s a big sweat for nothing. Newt in a debate will shrink the field in knowledge, reason, political experience and Independents will be all ears. You know, the ones who will elect the next prez.

2012 election will be about the inter-related connectiveness of the following:

ENERGY
ECONOMY
NATONAL SECURITY
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
AMERICA EXCEPTIONALISM

ONLY Sarah has the insight into all OF these and how they are ALL RELATED.

>>>>Ok, so now it’s ok to be on T.V. to be President, BUT you can’t have done it within 15 years of running for President? Is that your time table? And funny, Reagan was an ACTOR. Palin is anything BUT.... what she did on her AK program amounted to no more than a documentary. Last I checked documentaries are educational. And you may know all there is to know about Alaska, but as a former Geography teacher, I can tell you that I learned several things! And my kid did too.... when she left office, she promised to promote Alaska and she did. I’m sorry for you that THAT happens to fall during the age of computers and television and stuff, but if you’re going to promote a state and do a decent job, T.V. is a great medium!!

And are you saying that people from smaller states shouldn’t be allowed to become President? I mean it would be very difficult for someone from a small state to become Gov. of a large state..... I guess I’m just not understanding what your REAL problem is w/her... ok, she was governor, but you’re not happy about that b/c the state was small. (you might wanna check out what all her duties included that most states don’t have to deal with)... And I was always taught it doesn’t matter how important you are or how small your job is, you should excel at the one you have. Has she not excelled when she governed? From local on up to state.... Is it really that difficult to look at her record there and say: “yea, I’d like to see that nation wide”.... who IS your choice by the way???

And you sound like Rove talking about her lack of “gravitas”... I personally think “cojones” is much more important in this day that “gravitas”..... and “cojones”..well, she’s got ‘em <<<<<< rant complete.

Palin just so happens to be right on virtually every issue, as Reagan was. Like Reagan, she comports herself with great humor and cheer, and just b/c she’s not dull and stiff like Madame Thatcher doesn’t mean that she lacks “gravitas”. Dealing with a handicapped child helps one appreciate the blessings and difficulties of life. Bob

Palin isn't from California and never lived there, so how could she have become governor of California? That is a flawed comparison and you know it. She was Alaska's first female governor, and had great poll numbers until the Obama camp sent the media to destroy her. And you know it.
