To me, it is not a “birther thing”. Rather, it is a “adhering to the provisions of the constitution thing”.

Do we care what our constitution requires? If so, then we need to be concerned with what the phrase “natural born citizen” means. Either that, or we need to acknowledge that the 14th amendment makes the original language in Article 2 moot.

Does it mean “born in country to two US citizen parents”? Or does it mean “born in country to one US citizen parent”? Or, did the 14th amendment make it a “moot” issue and that one’s parentage is irrelevant?

Which is it and does it matter to us, the people?

Of course, we could simply ignore it completely and let some future generation deal with it...which seems to be the course we are on at the moment.

I do care what the constitution says, but this knucklehead has us chasing legal daffynitions while he is raping the shit out of the body of the constitution.
