If she continues to serve as a reality show character and gets in pissing contests with Obama and the media, she will be. Just running after publicity ala Donald Trump might make her wealthy but isn’t going to make her a serious candidate much less president.

Pretty much every GOP candidate in modern history has the same position on abortion, why would it effect Palin different?

I believe it would in fact affect Palin differently. There probably needs to be some sort of a major discussion of this on FR; near as I can tell, many if not most conservatives plainly do not understand the problem.

Upwards of 90% of all Down syndrome pregnancies in industrialized countries end in abortion. Seventy years ago when families had five or six children, they did not view a Down syndrome child as the end of the world. But in today's urban and suburban world in which families can only afford 1.4 or 1.8 kids, the general assumption is that a Down syndrome child means the end of a family and they don't want to hear about it.

What you're talking about is telling all of America's married couples that they either are or should be one bad pregnancy away from being criminals. I mean, if the opposition party were decent and honorable people, you might could get away with it but, then, we all understand the nature of the demoKKKrat party, don't we?

Worse, in the case of Palin, you have a worst possible case. There are just too many ways I can picture one of the women who can only afford (or thinks she can only afford) 1.8 children watching Sarah Palin holding Trig and thinking something like "Jesus, that crazy woman could actually force me to have a Down syndrome baby!!! Maybe she can afford it, but I can't!!!!".

I mean, I know it isn't fair but then life isn't fair and the demoKKKrats sure as hell aren't fair. The question is, why risk it when we have candidates who really COULD win??

Is that why Huckabee and Romney have been steadily ahead of her since last year? Because they have “announced”?

Palin is a Lightening Rod and her popularity won't change much if she does announce. She is maxed out in Name Recognition and this is the best she can do.

The media will rip her apart if she does announce, which is why She has taken so much time to do so and continues to only preach to the choir.

A former governor, mayor, energy commissioner, small business person.

A former governor - who quit.

A Mayor - whose ineptitude and arrogance cost Wasilla well over a million dollars to clean up after her in the ice-rink to nowhere comedy.

An energy commissioner - who quit the job.

Yep, 100& presidential material. LOL.

In Wikipedia, Palin says she took the Energy Commission job to learn more about it......;

(Wikipedia) /////Governor Murkowski offered a number of other jobs to Palin, and in February 2003, she accepted an appointment to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, which oversees Alaska's oil and gas fields for safety and efficiency.[69]

Although she had little background in the area, she said she wanted to learn more about the oil industry, and was named chair of the commission and ethics supervisor.\\\\\\

She quit that job several months later......(not years later, she was FORCED to resign in November, 2003) And yet, several here frequently declare her “vast” executive experience and Oil industry background. The truth is laughable. If anyone had an ax to grind it was her. And she took that grudge with her when she was elected Governor.

Palin has moved maybe 1 point at best. Just because she is so heavily worshiped on this forum, does not make her play well with the general electorate. The averages clearly show that.

You worship the polls.

first rule is ... always consider the source ...

Another truth is individuals assign their own way of thinking onto others and then criticize them for it when it is based on a falsehood to begin with

Little that is written by the Main stream medias is without out bias. So if viewed by the skewed thinking of a progressive liberal, it bears little truth in it, and a whole lot of being framed by twisted interpretation of the facts.

So do not believe most of the reporting. Find facts for yourselves.

I love you types that whine about her voice. First, she isnt pretending to be a clip-haired ball buster businesswoman clone that some people love. It simpmly isnt her.

but more importantly, the voice worriers never seem to notice Carters drawl, Clintons redneck accent, or that BushII was utterly painful to listen to. They also give a pass to Obama and his black minister voice, or his faux blue blood Boston WF Buckley impersonation, his arabic accent, or his odd drunken black wino-philosopher voice. You hear that one when he shouts people down,,,(complete with dramatic pointing gestures)
“na na,, na na na na ,,now listen”
or “standin’ there wit a slurpee”

But Sarahs voice is the thing America won’t tolerate. get real,,, a women doesn’t have to sound like a Carly Fiorina corporate wannabe to sound serious to most people.

Whatever. You might find solace in other websites that gather far left stories to damage conservatives because you seem to fall for their crap hook, line and sinker.

Sorry, FRiend but palin damaged herself with her performance as mayor, her quitting as energy commissioner and her quitting as governor.

Those are the facts, not "far left stories". You don't like these facts but they are 100% of palin's doing.

Winners never quit - quitters never win.

The 2012 election will hinge on turnout, there will be no “undecided” voters. If the Tea Party and Republicans turn out like they did in 2010; and the Democrats feel no real excitement, we will win in a landslide like 1980.I do not believe the Democrat base is very excited about 2012 and are very unhappy with Obama. This means a depressed voter turnout. The question will be if there is an exciting Republican candidate who will send the conservative voters to the polls.

The problem is that Boehner and other Republicans of that ilk in Congress are going to depress the Republican turnout.

Add to that a milktoast nominee like Daniels or a terrible nominee like Romney or Huckabee and we will get a 2006 or 2008 type turnout.

Right,

And all the polls said that Obama was winning in ‘08 while the scoffers here said it was all a big lie and McCain would win.

Guess what? Those polls were accurate to within 1/2 a point.

Well, you do have to pay attention to the polls. Remember how they nailed it with Carters second term!/
