There has been a lot of speculation as to what the post-mortem photos of Osama bin Laden, that the Obama administration has refused to release, show. Member of Congress, however, are being allowed to view them at CIA Headquarters.
The first member of Congress to view them according to Fox Report anchor Shepard Smith was Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Inhofe. Inhofe appeared on Smiths show and told him that the photos are gruesome.
They are gruesome, of course, because it was taken right after the incident, he said. And so, of the 12, three of them were older pictures so that we could actually compare what he looked like when he had the black beard and what he looked like after he was killed. And that was part the good way of making that presentation. Then they had some of his ear. Now, what had happened in those, I couldnt tell whether the bullet went through the ear and out the eye cavity or through the eye and out the ear because a lot of brains were draped out from the socket. But it clearly what we saw there was it was him. There is no question he was dead. But, the more revealing pictures really were the ones on the USS Vinson and the North Arabian Sea.
Inhofe then revealed details about the photos that have not been made public yet that bin Laden was in his underwear at the time of his death.
See, the beard is a moving target because he dyes it all the time, Inhofe said. And the pictures we had older pictures had a black beard. His beard this time was a little bit shorter and it was more salt-and-pepper. You could tell its probably the actual color of the beard. Now, what he was dressed in, some of these were just headshots so you only had the head shot. Only two of them showed that he was partially, I would say you would call underwear on, that was about it.
Inhofe explained that despite some of the reports that his skull was partially gone, that was not the case based on his viewing of the photos.
It appeared that way at first, Inhofe said Then when you saw the other pictures later, you could tell it wasnt that way. Now, what happened was if the bullet went into the eye socket, then it was an explosive, it detonated once it was in so that caused the brain to come back out of the eye socket. Thats what made it look so gruesome.

Do you object to people having security clearances?
“And that was before “We can shoot you any time we want just because we want to” became official US government policy.”
You say this like it is a bad thing! Foreign nationals not on U.S. soil have no rights under our Constitution and can (and should) be killed the very moment we deem them better off dead as a matter of U.S. foreign policy or war aims.
Moreover, in this particular case, the CIC of our military has full Congressional authorization to conduct war against anyone who planned or conducted or gave shelter aid or comfort to the 9-11 terrorists.
I am totally OK with that.
(ie, OBL as the target of a straight-up kill mission — an assasination, just like Yamamoto.)
You’re not?
Shot in back of head?
So much for explosive vest story.
He could have been naked and breastfeeding for all I care. He was a dead man walking since 9/11. My only regret is that it was too quick of a death for that dirt dog. I wished that he had been gut-shot and left to rot as his own s**t ate him alive.
I would be OK with him being doused in gasoline, lit on fire, and tossed out of a chopper hovering over Central Park on the 4th of July weekend to kickoff the fireworks show. But hey, maybe it is just me.
Inhofe: Gruesome photos reveal bin Laden in nothing but his underwear when shot
When the AC doesn’t work a guy has to keep cool, whoever it was they shot.
Hollow point bullets aren’t allowed for mil use, per the Geneva convention.
What sort of convention do we have for political truthfulness.
If we don’t have one we need one.

I don’t think he was complaining about Osama’s death.
Hydrashocks perhaps?
Actually all this confirms is that AFTER he was shot and WHEN the picture was taken, he was LYING there dead in his underwear. Since the picture wasn't taken while he was being shot, we don't really have proof about his level of dress or undress, nor the proximity of weapons to where he was standing, sitting, lying, or kneeling and bobbing or however else he might have been positioned.
Explosive bullet? Inhofe seems to be painfully ignorant about ballistics.
Give Usama a break—Its really hot in that part of the world and I bet his hideout didn’t have AC.
I hope they gave him a “beverly” before they shot him.
I'm not upset the man is dead. We were going to kill him, one way or another.
But to extend your Yamamoto example... Say Tex Lamphier only managed to damage Yamamoto's plane, and the pilot put it down on Henderson Field. Would the mission have been to haul Yamamoto off the plane, stand him up on the side or the runway, and shoot him? Or would the Marines have captured him?
Obviously it did not work that way. Tex had a shot and put that plane in the water. Nothing wrong with that.
But how harmless and defenseless would bin Laden have had to be to have those SEALs not put a bullet in his head?
Found the following: "The Geneva Convention doesn't ban HP bullets, the Hague Convention of 1899 banned HP and other types of expanding bullets. The United States NEVER signed, nor ratified that convention. Legally, we could use HP ammo tomorrow if we wanted to."
I mentioned 9mm, 'cause there was tremendous media coverage of the SigSaur P226 in 9mm which is apparently SEAL issue. I would be carrying a rifle in 5.56Nato or bigger, if I had a choice. Even the 5.56 would bust his melon. Look what it did to JFK, when fired from SSA Hickey's AR15, according to Howard Donahue ("Mortal Error").
