Mindslaughter

I am not referring to manslaughter, the killing of a human being. I am referring to mindslaughter, the killing of a human mind. Like manslaughter, mindslaughter may be either voluntary or involuntary. The difference depends on the intention of the perpetrators. But it makes little difference to the victims.

In the case of manslaughter, the victims are just as dead. In the case of mindslaughter, their ability to get a good job, earn enough to support a family, be informed citizens, or even to think clearly is just as impaired. The motives of those responsible are irrelevant to the damage done.

The influence of the Left on primary and secondary education is undeniable, but its influence on the universities is even greater. My parents revered education. My wife and I have doctoral degrees. So it is painful for me to say this. I believe that the decline of Western, and specifically American, civilization occurred simultaneously with the greater percent of people who attend university.

At the university, students learn to be dependent on government-sponsored loans to pay inflated tuition, which was inflated because of government intervention. How they will repay this debt they cannot say. But having become used to this system, they see no reason not to apply it everywhere, including home loans and health care.

Students learn socialism before they attend a single class. And in class they learn more:

Pay me? Are you kidding? I spend $299 a year to maintain my website, not to mention the hundreds of hours. For example, the current post took over 5 hours to write.

I alreadly explained that if I upload the whole column here, it loses pictures (which I sometimes use) and links (which I always use). I still think of myself as a teacher—the links are like footnotes, which you can check out if you are interested in learning more.

If all this turns you off, fine. Watch the mainstream media—you won’t have to think at all. If clicking on a link is too difficult for you, do something easier. If you disagree with my opinions, post something yourself. As TR said, get off your butt, climb down from the cheap seats, get into the arena, and get sweaty or even bloody. But don’t just criticize others—DO something.

If you could take a little time off from criticizing your friends with whom you have a minor difference, you mught find the time to fight your real enemies who want to destroy you. Just a thought.

Stop having minor differences and we'll see. Blogpimpin' ain't looked at too kindly 'round these parts.

Learn a little HTML and repost in the entirety on FR.

Otherwise I will eat your children.

Trust me. You don't want that.

For my posted opinion on the big business of blogging you can click here (Notice how easy it is to include a link?)

"If you disagree with my opinions, post something yourself. "

In fact, I agree with your opinion, at least as much of it as you've posted here. If you ever read anything but but your own self-absorbed material, you would know that I have posted 52 threads on FreeRepublic, some of which are quite serious essays on current topics that I authored myself. They, along with over 10,000 thread replies were posted in full on this forum so that everyone could read them with ease - pictures and all.

As to what I "DO" well, I guess you wouldn't be able to see it from where you're sitting. Does that PhD (Piled Higher and Deeper) make a good seat cushion in the bleachers?

I posted my last reply before reading the rest of the thread.

Now that I’ve benefited from your wisdom, and been disabused of the notion that you were a PhD rather than a medical doctor, I can make the following deeply insightful comment.

That Larry Lucido guy?

What he said.

".....we must improve primary and secondary education, and we must hire teachers and professors who have Judeo-Christian and American values..."
