It surprised me. Not in the sense that he hates Israel. That should surprise no one. But to actually come out and publicly take a stand against arguably our closest ally is beyond me. Not only that but the speech didn’t even please the Muslims!

On the issue of Israeli security vs a Palestinian state Obama has now has no friends, no allies and nobody who will trust him.

In his speech Obama stated he spoke for the United States. Where is the outrage from Congress. How can he commit more of our assets to Arab countries as he pleases.

What's upsetting is that it places Israel in a very poor position, even before the negotiation process. If the administration wanted to discuss this with Israel before the process, they should have done so privately, through channels.

As for the Muslims, they're taking the hard line because they see this for what it is; our hanging Israel out to dry. They're simply stating what they think, both of Israel and the current administration.
