PLACERVILLE, Calif. - Supervisors in a Northern California county voted Tuesday to replace 36 gravestones that bear the N-word, giving the green light to state, county and community officials to design an alternative.

The graves hold the remains of pioneers of various races from a Gold Rush settlement called Negro Hill. The federal government moved the bodies from the mining town in 1954 to make way for a dam, and in the process, erected concrete headstones that said the settlers came from N-word Hill....

Since when is “negro” the N word and a racial epithet? I read somewhere else a different version of this story where the N word was the six letter version. I wonder what the truth is?

More California leftist PC crap. There is nothing wrong with the word “Negro”. That is not the “N” word but again, this is an AP writer so...

Hey, we’ve got a “Jew Fish” and a “Jew’s Harp” but you don’t hear me shouting discrimination and asking that they be renamed “Hebrew Fish” and “Hebrew’s Harp.”

The closest we’ve got to an “N” word is “Heb” and it doesn’t bother me a bit. I’ve been called worse and I’m still here.

Time to lighten up California. You’ve got more important problems to address - like Moonbeam, The Impreginator, your budget deficits, no water for Vaquin Valley, gangs, drug gangs, Hollyweird, the LA Times, San Francisco, and Sen. Boxer.

Actually the markers use the real n word.

And yes it is a disgrace.

While I have strong objection to the involvement of the race-baiters I do agree these markers should be preserved for posterity.

This was done by members of the corp of engineers in 1954 when they moved the graves and was just something they let some fools do and was basically a racist joke and vandalism.

Yeah, it is what you think. The word “negro” apparently was replaced with a much more inappropriate word.

I hope they replace the word “Negro” with a chalkboard, because in 20 years, “African American” will be out of favor.

Final race names:
Non Hispanic white
Non Hispanic non white
Non white non(non Hispanic non white)
.......
Other aggrieved

Should Hispanic be “ non white non(non white) white” or should we just use a paint color chart???

Yes, but that's not what is on the headstones.
