My 17 year old will be flying by herself on Friday but she has to change planes in Cleveland and has less than one hour in which to do so.
She will be on the same airline but she will have to get off at Terminal C and catch the connecting flight at Terminal D.
When looking at the map, it does not indicate if it is a matter of just walking right over to the "D" section:

If you are familiar with this airport, please let me know so I can give her some peace of mind. She has never changed planes before.
In cases like this there would be a shuttle for safety, I would think.
aviation pinglist (vanity - personal interest)
It is tight — she should hustle.
That tunnel is longer than the map makes it look. I was there a few years ago and don’t recall a shuttle of any sort.
She should be OK — have her get VERY PRECISE directions the moment she steps onto the concourse (if there isn’t someone to meet the plane, then go to the first open counter with uniformed people there).
She’ll just have to go down the escalators to the tunnel and walk through the tunnel to the D concourse, then back up the escalators.
She’ll want to keep an eye out to make sure they don’t swap gates though; that happens often enough. Just tell her not to be afraid to ask for directions; she should be fine.
My flight attendant son told me it’s never a good idea to make the connection that tight. They won’t hold a plane for you, they close the door before the last minute and things happen, like late planes.
I just dropped my daughter off there this morning.
She should be fine it is not that big of an airport. Nothing complicated in the terminals. It sounds like she is going from a larger plane to a smaller plane based on the terminals. The map posted earlier should help.
We live about 15 minutes from the airport.
move briskly. i have done it a few times, if memory serves there is a people mover in the tunnel. if the planes are on time she should be good. once off the plane, 20 mins tops to walk to the other gate.
see if she can get a seat in the front of the first plane, that will save a lot of time.
I don’t know if this link will help. It details certain services offered by the airport:

If you call customer service of the airline and explain your concerns, they will have a CSR arrive at the gate and help her all the way to the gate. No problem!
I’ve connected in Cleveland a couple of times and never had a problem. Unless the incoming flight is more than a half hour late, there’s not going to be a problem. Even then, since it’s the same airline, they might hold the Cleveland departure it there are several people making the same connection. I wouldn’t worry at all about it. (But then I was sending my daughter to Florida by herself from NJ, every year from when she was seven, and then to Germany also by herself once when she was 11.)
Clevelands easy and very well marked.
An average person can walk at 3 miles an hour, so unless she has trouble walking or her plane is really late getting in, there is no problem. If she is still concerned, she should try to get a seat near the front on the arriving flight.
By the way, I’ve flown close to 2 million miles and hundreds of flights, I’ve only missed a connection once in Atlanta due to bad weather at JFK. The airline automatically rebooked me before I even arrived and I had a seat reserved on the next flight.
All of you have been helpful and we appreciate it. I think she will do alright. She is assigned in Row 31 so getting off that flight to connect will be interesting.
The best part of the CLE airport is the Great Lakes Brewing Co pubs!
I live in the Democrat infested area of Cleveland and have been to the airport hundreds of times.
The walk from concourse C to D is well within reach, MAYBE 15-20 minutes at a semi-brisk pace. Getting to concourse D entails going down an escalator, negotiating a flat walk then an escalator going up to the concourse.
They are able to discuss the location of bombings in London and Egypt as places they visited.
I always worry.
