In the scheme of things is it more important for Sarah Palin to recite when asked the Longfellow version of Revere’s ride or for the president of the United States when asked to know the difference between Iraq and Afghanistan?

I read the article or enough of it. It doesn't matter that what Gov. Palin said was true, she is still an idiot according to Mr. Ungar.

This is the way it is in our PC society, truth doesn't matter and those that point out the truth, including a freeper with a link to Paul Revere's letter, are simply apologists and not truth tellers.

Our culture is rotten as hell. Whether we do a F.... YOU (read without the ellipses) -- VIDEO or attack candidates Reagan and Palin for pointing out the truth, our culture is evil and putrid. Another reason to fear for this country.

Figures you would post this Rabs.

If there's some dirt to shovel against Palin, no matter what the source, no matter how unethical, no matter how weak, you are first in line to dig it up and post it on FreeRepublic.

You should be ashamed of yourself, but apparently, you have no shame.

I didn't dig it up. This was handed to me on a silver platter.

Rabs,

This has been debunked all over the place, and yet you still rush to post crap like this because you somehow think it damages Palin or you think it proves your point.

It does neither but it does cement in the minds of readers of FReeRepublic your PDS and lack of objectivity where Sarah Palin is concerned.

Liberals have to revise history in order to continue to exist. I’m surprised that they don’t credit the theory of man-made global warming to Thomas Jefferson.

She simply mis-spoke. And I think it makes conservatives look like apologists when they look for ways to make it appear she said it intentionally. She simply made a mistake.

After reading Paul Revere’s own account concerning the events of that night, it could be reasonably assumed he was trying to warn or alarm the British. He definitely tried to put the fear of God in them. Whether he succeeded or not is beside the point. Obviously, the media is scouring every statement Palin makes to try to prove her an idiot. Would they do the same to Obama? Sorry I asked that question.

She simply mis-spoke.

Really. And how did she do that when Revere DID warn the Regulars that 500 men were waiting for them and that "their troops had catched aground in passing the River"?

Letter from Paul Revere to Jeremy Belknap, circa 1798 - Page 4

The link is to the Massachusetts Historical Society.

While I give them credit for the effort, I’m afraid that – to any rational person – it is a lost cause.

Me thinks you have been exposed to the rare element *Pissantium*.
Would suggest aggressive decontamination immediately followed by a mental laxative to get any fecal matter out of your brain.

PS:
This subject has been beat to death enough!

Experts back Sarah Palin’s historical account

[...] Boston University history professor Brendan McConville said, “Basically when Paul Revere was stopped by the British, he did say to them, ‘Look, there is a mobilization going on that you’ll be confronting,’ and the British are aware as they’re marching down the countryside, they hear church bells ringing — she was right about that — and warning shots being fired. That’s accurate.”

[...] Cornell law professor William Jacobson, who asserted last week that Palin was correct, linking to Revere quotes on his conservative blog Legalinsurrection.com, said Palin’s critics are the ones in need of a history lesson. “It seems to be a historical fact that this happened,” he said. “A lot of the criticism is unfair and made by people who are themselves ignorant of history.”

Final score:

SARAH PALIN: 1

ANKLEBITERS: 0

Awwwwwwwwwwww. ;)
